Internet mocks Nikki Haley as Donald Trump continues winning streak with Missouri caucus victory
WASHINGTON, DC: Following his prior victory in Michigan and Missouri, former President Donald Trump was crowned the winner of the Idaho caucus on Saturday, March 2 night, completing a hat trick of Republican caucus victories.
With these wins, Trump moved one step closer to defeating his lone opponent, Nikki Haley, for the GOP candidacy in 2024. Haley has promised to be around for the entire week of Super Tuesday competitions.
Donald Trump completes hat trick of Republican caucus victories
So far, Haley has lost to Trump in every primary and caucus. She hasn't even been able to close the gap to just a few points. Following his victories, he launched an attack on President Joe Biden, against whom he will probably be contesting against in the general election.
At the Get Out the Vote rally at the Greater Richmond Convention Center in Richmond, Virginia on Friday, Trump said, "This is getting to be pretty wild and it’s a great honor. We have to let them know we’re coming for him. We’re coming on November 5 Joe, crooked, sleepy, Joe."
At the Michigan Republican Party's Grand Rapids caucus convention, Trump won all 39 of the delegates. He easily defeated Haley in all thirteen congressional district caucuses, garnering over 90% of the vote in each, and won three districts with a unanimous vote, according to the Detroit News.
Following Tuesday's Michigan primary, which Trump won with 68% of the vote, came the caucus convention. The purpose of the caucus was to choose 39 of the state's 55 delegates to the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee this summer.
After Democratic Governor Gretchen Whitmer approved an earlier primary date at President Biden's urging, the Michigan GOP and the Republican National Committee reached a deal that resulted in the unique two-contest system.
In the Missouri caucus, which decided the allocation of 51 of the state's 54 delegates, Trump also triumphed against Haley.
With at least 50% of the 924 caucus precincts voting for Trump, he increased his lead to 54 convention delegates from Missouri. Party rules will allow three more at-large delegates to cast any number of votes.
The Republican National Committeemen and Committeewomen of Missouri, as well as the state party chairman, will select the last three delegates. They are free to cast their votes for any candidate they like.
In addition, a resounding majority of Idaho's Republican registered voters supported Trump in the caucuses, which were held at more than 210 venues around the Gem State. With 84.3% of the vote, Trump was awarded all 32 delegates from the state.
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, who withdrew from the contest last month, received 1.3% of the vote, while Haley only received 13.8%.
A candidate receives all 32 caucuses in Idaho if they receive more than 50% of the vote, according to the winner-take-all caucus system. If neither Trump nor Haley met that standard, the delegates would have been distributed equally.
Internet trolls Nikki Haley after Donald Trump's hat trick of wins
Several social media users made fun of Nikki Haley across social media platform X after Donald Trump won in every county and delegate up for grabs at Missouri’s GOP caucus.
A user posted, "Nikki Haley got as many delegates as I did!"
Another added, "Nikki came on a close second."
A person also wrote, "Haley didn't get a single vote."
A person further added, "That’s because Nikki didn’t have democrats to help her.
Another stated, "Keep on fighting Mr. Trump we need you so badly."
That’s because Nikki didn’t have democrats to help her.
