PIGEON FORGE, TENNESSEE: Dolly Parton has finally shared an update on her health. The 'I will always love you' singer revealed that she has been going through “hard times” with her health but is now healing.

She said she is dealing with health issues that “I just didn’t pay attention to when I was watching over Carl.” A week earlier, Parton joined the Dollywood event virtually rather than appearing in person at the Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, amusement park.

During an interview with PEOPLE, Parton shared that she feels her recent health situation has received far more attention than expected.

She said, “But I think because we live in a 24/7 world with social media, everything gets magnified in ways it wasn’t years ago. I used to joke that I was the Queen of the Tabloids, but now I guess I can say I’m the Queen of Social Media AI!”

Parton indicated that she is on the mend. “Seriously, though, even though I’m still healin’, I’m still workin’,” she said.

“I’m dehydrated,” she told the crowd, adding that her Nashville doctor had “clipped my wings” and told her, “you ain’t traveling this week.” Parton acknowledged that when a doctor advises you not to travel, “you ain’t traveling this week.” She also explained that she wanted to keep her fans “in the loop” and promised to do so “on everything.”

“The good news is I’m responding really well to meds and treatments, and I’m improving every day,” Parton explained at the time, adding, “I’m doing really well, and they assure me that everything I have is treatable.”

She also skipped her 80th birthday celebration in January. Parton has faced personal losses as well.

For those unaware, her husband, Carl Dean, died at the age of 82, prompting her to take a step back from the spotlight and music to mourn. She also lost her brother, Coy “Denver” Parton, who died on July 23.
