NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE: Country music icon Dolly Parton has fans around the world deeply concerned after her sister, Freida Parton, shared a heartfelt plea online, asking for prayers amid Dolly’s ongoing health issues.

On Tuesday, October 7, Freida took to Facebook to reveal that the 79-year-old legend “ain’t doing too good,” just weeks after canceling several shows from her highly anticipated Las Vegas residency due to medical reasons.

Dolly Parton’s sister says she’s been ‘up all night praying’

In an emotional Facebook post, Freida shared that she had been “up all night praying” for her beloved sister and urged fans to join her in lifting the country icon in prayer.

“We need prayer warriors around the world right now,” Freida wrote. “Dolly’s strong, she’s loved, and with the world’s prayers lifting her up, I believe my sister’s gonna be just fine.”

She ended the message on a hopeful note, writing, “Godspeed, my sissy Dolly. We all love you!” alongside a touching photo of her.

Dolly Parton’s Vegas residency postponement

The outpouring of concern follows Dolly Parton’s announcement earlier this year that she would be postponing her Las Vegas residency, originally scheduled for December 2024, citing the need for medical procedures.

The shows were pushed back to September 2025, leaving fans worried about the country legend’s health.

At the time, Dolly told fans she needed to take some time to “focus on getting well,” assuring them she would be back on stage stronger than ever.

However, Freida’s recent message has reignited fears that the 'Jolene' singer’s recovery may be taking longer than expected.
