WALKER, MICHIGAN: GOP nominee Donald Trump threw his campaign staff under the bus while attempting to debunk the criticism that people leave his rally early, on Friday, September 27, reported Raw Story.

During the afternoon, Trump was speaking at a campaign rally in Michigan when he argued that no one ever left his rally early. He further rambled over the problems he faces while holding such campaign events, like airplane delays and bad weather.

Multiple videos have been doing rounds on social media which showed people leaving Trump rallies in droves even as the former president is heard delivering his speeches.

Donald Trump's explanation of people leaving his rally

Trump contradicted himself on Friday, stating that no one leaves his rally early, and when they do, he wraps up his speech faster. He then launched into an explanation of how his campaign staff asks some people to gather outside for photoshoots, giving the impression that they are walking out in the middle of his speech.

"The people that you see leaving? Nobody ever leaves. And when they do, I finish up quick," said Trump.

"I couldn't take pictures at the beginning so I take them at the end sometimes if I'm late, the plane gets late, you get delayed, lots of things happen there's a little hurricane going on in Florida, as you know," he continued.

"What they do is they say, 'Oh please come up now' at the end of my speech," stated the business tycoon of his staffers. "I said, 'Don't do that!' because it looks like they're leaving."

"But these stupid people that are with me sometimes, they say, 'Come on back.' Thirty people, they get up and they go back and they're all lined up waiting in the back, waiting for me to take a picture, because I couldn't do it before, because I didn't want to keep you waiting, because you're much more important than the wealthy people," he added.

Internet rejects Donald Trump's explanation

Netizens reacting to Trump's statement on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) trolled him for living in a "world of imagination." The following tweets demonstrate their takes.

"It looks like they’re leaving because they’re leaving," wrote a user.

"Narrator: Once again, Donald Trump was lying. It looked like they were leaving because they were, in fact, leaving," mocked another.

"Yes, they are absolutely leaving. Bc most of those departing rally-goers are paid for.... When their agreed time is up, they no longer care to be there," alleged a third.

"They are leaving when they found out Trump doesn’t pay for overtime," added a fourth.

"A world of pure imagination!" quipped a fifth.

"When you look up the word insecure in the dictionary there should just be a picture of this dude," chided yet another.
