WASHINGTON, DC: Former president Donald Trump, in an attempt to spin the news about the raucous crowd he met at the Libertarian National Convention on Saturday, May 25, boasted about their "enthusiasm" on social media, according to Raw Story.

The Republican presumptive nominee was booed off stage, something he never experienced with his hardcore MAGA rally gathering.

He pleaded with the third-party voters gathered at the event to nominate or "at least vote" for him. However, Trump managed to receive only six write-in votes.

Despite the call for support amid frequent boos, the 45th president did not file the appropriate paperwork to be considered for the party's nomination.

Why did Trump not submit paperwork despite the crowd's 'enthusiasm'?

After his unconventional attendance, Trump took to his Truth Social platform and explained why he did not submit the paperwork for the Libertarian Party's nomination. However, boasted he would have received a majority of the third-party votes.

"The reason I didn't file paperwork for the Libertarian Nomination, which I would have absolutely gotten if I wanted it (as everyone could tell by the enthusiasm of the Crowd last night!), was the fact that, as the Republican Nominee, I am not allowed to have the Nomination of another Party," the real estate mogul wrote.

"Regardless, I believe I will get a Majority of the Libertarian Votes," he bragged.

Irrespective of his humiliation at the convention, Trump did not stop attacking independent presidential candidate Robert F Kennedy Jr, who gathered more write-in votes than the ex-president.

Labelling Kennedy a "Radical Left Democrat," Trump argued that he ruined everything he touched in New York and New England, particularly regarding the cost and practicality of energy. He added the independent candidate was not a libertarian and "Only a FOOL would vote for him!"

Libertarian Party Chair Angela McArdle declared to the delegates on Sunday, May 26, that Trump did not file the papers though he was nominated and highlighted it was "nice to be nominated," according to NBC News.

The party chose activist Chase Oliver as the presidential nominee on Sunday night, who secured the nomination in the seventh round of votes.

Internet mocks Trump for bragging about raucous crowd's 'enthusiasm'

Social media users wasted no time ridiculing the former president for spinning the story on the boos he received at the convention.

One user wrote, "The mental gymnastics he has to put himself through in order to soothe his bruised ego."

"The next thing he'll say is that they were chanting 'let's go Brandon' or some such lie," another remarked.

A third user added, "And he thinks if he says it enough...it will become true?"

Meanwhile, a fourth response read, "Delusional Donald, or flat out lying?"

"He is so delusional he can’t hear or accept what is actually happening. He needs a thorough psychiatric evaluation," another person chimed in.

Someone else joked, "Not that it’s too much of a surprise, but I think we can honestly say that somebody’s living in denial."

An individual wrote, "The truly sorry thing is that Trump is so demented that he likely believes his own lies."

Another funny remark read, "Well, he's right. The crowd enthusiastically booed him."
