PALM BEACH, FLORIDA: Donald Trump lashed out at Oprah Winfrey on Election Day, on November 5, calling her a "major divider" as he spoke to reporters in Florida before casting his vote.

Trump's remarks came after Oprah Winfrey had appeared alongside Kamala Harris at her final rally in Pennsylvania the previous night.

The former president took aim at Oprah Winfrey, accusing her of contributing to division in the country with her recent comments about his plans for a second term if re-elected.

During his interaction with reporters, Trump expressed his frustration with Winfrey’s participation in the election campaign, specifically her remarks during a rally with Vice President Kamala Harris in Pennsylvania.

"I think Oprah has become a major divider in our country and she should be ashamed of herself," Trump said.

Winfrey's statements focused on the consequences of Trump’s potential return to the White House, which she claimed would undermine democracy.

Trump further vented about Fox News, claiming the network excessively featured Winfrey. “Everybody thinks Fox is so pro-Trump, well they’re not,” Trump commented.

Oprah Winfrey had urged Americans to turn out, stating, "If we don't show up tomorrow, it is entirely possible that we will not have the opportunity to ever cast a ballot again."

Winfrey’s comments during her rally drew criticism from Trump’s former press secretary, Kayleigh McEnany, who appeared on Fox News.

McEnany found Winfrey’s remarks extreme, saying, “We won’t ever vote again if her side doesn’t win? I mean, that’s crazy,” and added, “We will have another election, as we always do, four years from now.”

Trump was asked about these comments at a press conference after casting his vote in Florida, which led to his verbal attack on Winfrey, accusing her of deepening divisions in the country.

Trump recalls Oprah Winfrey's vice president claim

Donald Trump again claimed that in 2018, Oprah Winfrey had expressed interest in running him as vice president.

"I knew Oprah very well, she's been at Mar-a-Lago many times. You know, we did Roger King's funeral there. We don't normally do funerals, but Oprah said, 'Mar-a-Lago is the most beautiful place,' so we did it," he said.

"She knows me—she should be ashamed. She wanted to run with me as Vice President, she wrote me a letter, it was in the book. And now she’s a divider,” Trump said, according to Daily Mail.

Winfrey has been a prominent figure supporting Harris’ campaign, including hosting a town hall event in Michigan featuring celebrities like Julia Roberts, Meryl Streep, and Chris Rock.

"She’s a divider,” Trump reiterated before adding, “And Barack Hussein Obama is a divider, too.”
