MILWAUKEE, WISCONSIN: Country music artist Jason Aldean was seen seated alongside former president Donald Trump during the concluding evening of the Republican National Convention.

Aldean and his wife, Brittany Kerr, were present with Trump in the MAGA friends and family box earlier on Thursday, July 18, hours before the former president's scheduled speech to accept the party's nomination. The country music singer's casual attire of a grey t-shirt and white cap became a topic of much discussion on the internet with social media users debating whether it was the right choice for the evening.

The Aldeans have maintained a friendly relationship with Donald Trump over the years, and the singer supported Trump on social media this year following the former president's criminal conviction, USA Today reported.

The Republican National Convention has been taking place in Milwaukee since Monday, July 15, with speakers such as Trump's family members, former aides, and elected officials taking the opportunity to commend Trump.

Following Trump's survival of an assassination attempt on Saturday, July 13, Aldean gave a shout-out to Trump while he performed 'Try That in a Small Town' at a concert.

“President Trump’s a friend of mine so I want to send this next song out to him,” Aldean said according to footage from the concert available on social media. "We all know what’s going to happen come November, so it’s all good. Just goes to show you there’s a lot of bull***t in the world, and that’s kind of what this song right here was about, so this one goes out to the pres.”

The song and music video, released in May 2023, faced severe backlash and was labeled a "dog whistle" and "pro-lynching" because it featured footage from recent protests. Aldean has defended the video, claiming that the real news footage it contains has no racial overtones.

Following the assassination attempt, Aldean also referred to Trump as a "warrior" on Instagram.

The country singer donned a simple T-shirt for the convention. As soon as the image of Aldean and Trump at the RNC surfaced on social media, users began mocking the singer's attire for the event.

Another user made a sarcastic comment, "Nice of Aldean to dress up"

One commentator wrote, "I was wondering who it was who wore his best ball hat and t-shirt to sit with the President."
