WASHINGTON, DC: In an attempt to undermine Vice President Kamala Harris, Donald Trump claimed that he was 'forced to take a bullet for Democracy' because Harris and Joe Biden failed to provide him with sufficient protection during the Pennsylvania rally.

Notably, during his rally on July 13, Donald Trump survived an assassination attempt while addressing a campaign near Butler when a bullet grazed his right ear. The shooter, Thomas Crooks, was killed immediately by Secret Service snipers.

Trump wrote on the social media platform Truth Social, "The Biden/Harris Administration did not properly protect me, and I was forced to take a bullet for Democracy. IT WAS MY GREAT HONOR TO DO SO!"

Notably, The Secret Service has been under fire from both Republicans and Democrats for failing to stop a gunman on a rooftop just 400 feet from the former president.

Moreover, US Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle came under further criticism from politicians on both sides when she stated that it would need 60 days to gather a report on the event. Cheatle ultimately resigned on Tuesday, July 23.
