WASHINGTON, DC: Donald Trump is struggling with Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) according to his close advisors.

The former president, who survived an attempted assassination during the Butler, Pennsylvania rally is reportedly letting the incident get the better of him.

'He's been watching that seven-second clip of how close he was to getting shot right in the head — over and over again. He may actually legit have PTSD,” a source said.

Donald Trump struggle with PTSD is evident, per reports

As per the National Institute of Mental Health, common hallmarks of post-traumatic stress disorder include “reliving the traumatic event, cognition and mood symptoms, and feeling irritable and having angry or aggressive outbursts.”

Many wondered about his continued personal attacks on Democratic rival Kamala Harris, instead of her political stance, reported Daily Mail

“She actually called me weird,” Trump said in his defense during a press conference on Thursday, August 15.

“I think I'm entitled to personal attacks. I don't have a lot of respect for her. I don't have a lot of respect for her intelligence, and I think she'll be a terrible president.”

Trump, a day earlier on August 14, delivered an economic policy speech during a rally in North Carolina.

It soon veered off course into a lengthy and disjointed rant, drawing widespread ridicule from online commentators.

Donald Trump goes off script while discussing economy

During the August 14 rally, Donald Trump set out to address the state of the economy, a topic he deemed vital. However, his speech soon turned into what many described as a "word salad," as per OK! Magazine.

Trump remarked, "We’re talking about a thing called the economy. They wanted me to do a speech on the economy. A lot of people are very devastated by what’s happened with inflation and all of the other things. So we’re doing this as an intellectual speech. You are all intellectuals today. Today we’re doing it, and we’re doing it right now, and it’s very important."

He continued, "They say it’s the most important subject. I think crime is right there; I think the border is right there, personally. We have a lot of important subjects because our country has become a third-world nation."

"We’re a banana republic in so many ways, and we’re not going to let that happen because we’re starting a freefall. But from today and the day I take the oath of office, we will rapidly drive prices down and make America great again," he added.

His speech clip, shared by independent journalist Aaron Rupar on X (formerly Twitter), elicited a mocking response from Rupar: "holy word salad Batman."
