CHICAGO, ILLINOIS: Former president Donald Trump teased President Joe Biden's vacation to California during the Democratic National Convention and took pleasure in his rival's departure in a Truth Social post. 

The 78-year-old chided that Biden “is now unhappily sunbathing on a Beach in California, watching the waves, and thinking how much he hates Barack Hussein Obama, Crazy Nancy Pelosi, and Lightweight Movie ‘Star’ George Clooney, who failed to come to Crooked Joe’s defense.”

On Monday, August 19, the first day of the Democratic National Convention, Joe Biden gave the keynote address before taking a quick trip more than 2,000 miles away to California.

“It all began on the evening of June 27, 2024, THE DEBATE, which I think was heavily pushed and promoted by Comrade Kamala Harris. She knew what was going to happen, and so did everyone else,” Trump claimed, per New York Post. 

Democrats were outraged by Biden's poor debate performance against Trump and called for his resignation in unison. The incumbent has insisted that “No one influenced my decision; no one knew it was coming.” On July 21, exactly one month ago, he declared his historic decision to withdraw from the presidential election.

During the outcry against Biden, the 44th president had been mostly silent, but according to the Washington Post, he had privately informed friends that he believed Biden ought to reconsider the feasibility of running for reelection.

Politico said that although Barack Obama was aware of Clooney's intention to write an opinion piece in which he called on Biden to resign, he chose not to intervene. During his speech on Tuesday, the 63-year-old former president showered his former vice president with admiration.

“He got 14 Million Votes, she got NONE,” he added in reference to the 2024 Democratic primary. “He’s an angry man now, and he should be!”
