Hulk Hogan, born Terry Gene Bollea, died on Thursday, July 24, after suffering a cardiac arrest at his Florida home.
Dispatch audio obtained by People reveals the Clearwater Police Department was called to Hogan's home at 9:51 am local time on Thursday, July 24.
First responders began performing CPR on Hogan, and according to the audio, CPR was still "in progress" at 10:28 am as medics were "working on getting him out to the ambulance," suggesting they worked for 30 minutes to revive him.
“We lost a great friend today, the 'Hulkster,’” Donald Trump wrote on Truth Social after the news broke. “Hulk Hogan was MAGA all the way — Strong, tough, smart, but with the biggest heart.”
The president also remembered Hogan’s participation in his 2024 campaign efforts, calling his appearance “one of the highlights of the entire week.”
Trump continued, “He entertained fans from all over the World, and the cultural impact he had was massive. To his wife, Sky, and family, we give our warmest best wishes and love. Hulk Hogan will be greatly missed!”
Hulk Hogan recalled winning title at Trump Plaza in 1988
Hulk Hogan had shared the story of his decades-long friendship with Trump during a rally at Madison Square Garden in October 2024.
He spoke about winning the world title at WrestleMania IV, which was held at Trump Plaza.

“I just had a flashback, man. This is really trippy. The last time I was up on stage, Donald Trump was sitting ringside at the Trump Plaza. I was bleeding like a pig, and I won the world title right in front of Donald J Trump,” said Hogan.
“You know something? He’s going to win in November and we’re all going to be champions again when he wins.”
The 12-time world champion and WWE Hall of Famer supported Trump publicly even in his final months.

On Inauguration Day in January, Hogan posted a photo with Trump on Instagram to promote his Real American beer brand with the caption, “Two Real American Legends.”
