WASHINGTON, DC: Former President Donald Trump doubled down on his attacks against Vice President Kamala Harris in an attempt to brand her a communist ahead of the Democratic National Convention, according to Newsweek.

The GOP presidential nominee seemingly referred to the upcoming DNC in Chicago on August 19 as a "communist rally" and shared an AI-generated image on X (formerly Twitter).

The image showed a woman in a red blazer standing on a podium with the communist hammer and sickle symbol in front of her. The audience was replaced by figures in uniforms holding red flags.

The word "CHICAGO," referring to the DNC venue, was prominently displayed on the left side of the image.

Trump posted the AI image on the social media platform on Sunday, August 18, and it has garnered more than 46 million views so far.

Donald Trump targets Kamala Harris, tagging her a communist

Kamala Harris, who was confirmed as Donald Trump's presidential opponent nearly a month ago, has quickly turned the race into a tight contest. She has gained momentum in swing state polls and has shown strong fundraising efforts, setting the stage for a competitive head-to-head race in the upcoming election.

The real estate mogul, who earlier focused his campaign strategy on attacking his former rival, President Joe Biden, on his age, shifted his tactic recently, focusing on the vice president's economic agenda.

After Kamala Harris unveiled her economic agenda last week, which includes measures to ban price gouging on groceries and reduce inflation, Donald Trump responded by criticizing her approach, accusing her of going "full communist."

In his speech in Pennsylvania on Saturday, August 17, former President Donald Trump referred to Kamala Harris as "Comrade Kamala," criticizing her economic plans as "socialist price controls," according to Fox News.

"Comrade Kamala announced that she wants to institute socialist price controls. You saw that? Never worked before," Trump said.

He likened her approach to the economic plans of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and the Soviet Union, questioning, "They tried it there. And how did the Soviet Union turn out?"

Harris, who received President Biden's endorsement in July, is set to become the official Democratic presidential nominee at the Democratic National Convention (DNC) in Chicago.

Although Kamala Harris's selection as the Democratic presidential nominee came without the need for a primary race, she secured the nomination through a virtual voting process by delegates last month.

Donald Trump slammed for apparently labeling DNC as 'communist' rally with AI image

Netizens criticized Donald Trump for sharing an AI-generated image on his social media that appeared to depict the DNC as a communist rally. Some argued that the former president, known for his frequent dishonesty, was driven by fear.

"The campaign advisor that recommended accusing Kamala of being 'communist' will work for your campaign should be fired. ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS!," a user said. [sic]

"Honestly I don’t care if you’re left or right, candidates using AI images during their campaign should be illegal," another opined.

"If Trump keeps this nonsense up, Kamala will win in a landslide. Most Americans are not worried about Communism!" read a response.

"Again... Trump lives in fear. He copes with it by peddling fear to others so that he thinks this controls his own fears. It's Trump's full control or the highway in his world. He has this mental affliction, and this is his twisted solution," added another user.

"Everyone knows Trump never tells the truth. Anyone who doesn't agree with him is a fraud, a liar, and now also a communist. He is the most evil person the world has ever seen. His whole life is hate and lies," an individual wrote.

"When you can’t argue policy. You create memes," someone else remarked.

"There is nothing about the Democratic party, nor Kamala Harris and her agenda that is even the slightest bit 'communist'. This is just another weak attempt by Trump to smear, as he always does, anything he doesn't like as radical and communist or socialist. Doesn't fly, Don," another user chimed in.

"Trump is a fraudster. He can only see the world through his limited vision," read one remark. [sic]
