WASHINGTON DC: Former president Donald Trump took to his Truth Social platform on Wednesday, August 28, launching an all-caps rant against Vice President Kamala Harris.

Trump accused Harris of inflating her social media engagement by paying for numbers to appear more popular than him.

Donald Trump, who has frequently made baseless claims about his opponents, alleged that Kamala Harris uses "fake" numbers to boost her online presence.

He insisted that his social media engagement is "real and organic" while Harris' is fabricated.

"IT’S ALWAYS FAKE WITH KAMALA," Donald Trump posted on Truth Social, claiming that Harris manipulated her social media statistics.

"WE’RE DOMINATING HER ON SOCIAL MEDIA, SO SHE MAKES UP A FAKE LIST OF HER NUMBERS VERSUS MY NUMBERS. ALL OF OUR ENGAGEMENT IS REAL AND ORGANIC, WHILE KAMALA HAS TO PAY FOR HER FAKE ENGAGEMENT. WE’RE BEATING HER 'LIKE A DRUM', LIKE WE WILL BEAT HER ON NOVEMBER 5TH, Trump wrote while posting a screenshot of his Truth Social profile.

"IT’S ALL FAKE, IT’S ALL MISINFORMATION AND DISINFORMATION. WE ARE DESTROYING THE DEMOCRATS ON SOCIAL MEDIA!" Trump added.

Kamal Harris' campaign reports impressive social media growth

The former president's outburst was seemingly triggered by a recent Axios report highlighting Kamala Harris’ social media growth.

The report claimed that Harris' TikTok account, @KamalaHarris, gained 2 million followers within the first 24 hours after she was announced as the presidential nominee. It now boasts over 4.8 million followers.

The article also mentioned that the first six TikTok videos posted by Harris had amassed over 113 million views on August 9.

According to the Harris campaign, the @KamalaHQ account on TikTok, which was rebranded from Biden HQ, grew its following from 440,000 followers to more than 3.9 million.

The campaign reported that, as of August 9, their TikTok videos had accumulated over 462 million views since the account’s launch.

The campaign’s digital operation includes over 175 staffers across both the Harris for President and Democratic National Committee teams as per the report.

Donald Trump accuses Kamala Harris of falsifying crowd sizes

This isn't the first time Donald Trump has accused Kamala Harris of inflating her popularity. In an earlier post, Trump falsely claimed that Harris used artificial intelligence to exaggerate the size of crowds at her campaign rallies.

"Has anyone noticed that Kamala CHEATED at the airport? There was nobody at the plane, and she ‘A.I.‘d’ it, and showed a massive ‘crowd’ of so-called followers, BUT THEY DIDN’T EXIST!" Trump wrote on Truth Social.

The former president was referring to an image of a large crowd that had gathered on a tarmac in Michigan on August 7, to cheer for Harris as she stepped out of Air Force Two.

The Harris campaign refuted Trump’s accusation, stating that it was "an actual photo of a 15,000-person crowd for Harris-Walz in Michigan."
