WASHINGTON, DC: Former president Donald Trump's lead against Vice President Kamala Harris on the subjects of economic policy and crime is narrowing, a new poll has found.

As of Tuesday, August 27, the most recent Reuters/Ipsos poll, which was conducted on job and economic issues, reveals that Trump is still leading Harris by just 3%, with 43% of respondents to Harris' 40%.

Donald Trump was previously leading Kamala Harris by 11 points

In the same poll conducted in late July, Donald Trump was leading Kamala Harris by 11 points on economic matters. Also, the candidates' differences are narrowing on other important issues. In terms of addressing crime and corruption, Trump and Harris are currently deadlocked at 40%. Trump outscored Harris on the topic last month by five percentage points.

Given the August poll's +/- 4% margin of error, even Trump's lead in terms of economic policy is not strong enough to be regarded as a decisive advantage. Political strategists and pollsters are frantically trying to create a solid model of American voters before November's presidential election, but accuracy is still a problem after 2016 and 2020.

Impact of RFK Jr's endorsement of Donald Trump in the upcoming election

The impact of independent candidate Robert F Kennedy Jr's decision to halt his campaign on Friday, August 26, on the race is still unclear. After receiving support from roughly 8% of voters in a poll conducted in July, Kennedy Jr went on to endorse Donald Trump.

Trump's campaign speeches have been critical of the Biden administration's economic stewardship on a regular basis with households still suffering from years of rising inflation. Harris has promised to rein in costs by taking action against grocery stores that are "price gouging" their customers.

The most pressing concern for 26% of registered voters, according to the recent poll, was the economy, followed by political extremism and challenges to democracy (22%), immigration (13%), and other issues. The poll gathered responses online from 1,028 adults nationwide, including 902 registered voters.

Internet shocked as Kamala Harris narrows down on key issues against Donald Trump

Netizens were seemingly surprised to see the former president losing his edge over Kamala Harris in the most recent poll. One X user tweeted, "How? She hasn't talked off script in weeks. She has no fcking clue what she is doing, her 25k home buying down payment will actually make the economy worse."

Another added, "You would have to be an absolute fool to vote for a lying and incompetent Kamala Harris."

"'How can she GAIN anything in any polls!???? SHE DOES NOT HAVE ANY POLICIES... All she has are STUPID WORDS and phrases like Joy... we're not going back,... we fight we win.. That is all we've heard from KAMALA, ever since they did the COUP on BIDEN and INSTALLED HER, '" remarked one.

"Must be paying the people taking these polls because there's no way they are correct," wrote someone else.
