WASHINGTON, DC: President Donald Trump took a subtle jab at pop icon Taylor Swift as he invited the Philadelphia Eagles to the White House to celebrate their Super Bowl win against the Kansas City Chiefs.

In February, the Eagles defeated the defending champion Chiefs 40-22, who were going for a three-peat. The game was attended by the POTUS and Taylor Swift, who was present there to support her boyfriend, Travis Kelce.

Donald Trump mentioned the Super Bowl LIX game held on February 9, during the Philadelphia Eagles' visit to the White House on Monday, April 28. He also did not miss the opportunity to take a subtle jibe at Taylor Swift.

The POTUS said, "It was an incredible game. A little surprising, but right from the beginning in the first quarter of the big game – which I was there. I watched in person. I was there along with Taylor Swift. How did that work out? How did that one work out?"

Interestingly, it was the first time the Chiefs lost the Super Bowl since Swift started supporting her beau Travis Kelce's team.

Trump had earlier voiced his support for quarterback Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs before the Super Bowl, but he changed his tune as soon as the Eagles dominated the game in wire-to-wire fashion, according to Whiskey Riff.

Notably, reports claimed the Eagles' visit to the White House wasn't a full house as many members of the squad did not make it to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

Many players for the Eagles, such as Jalen Hurts, AJ Brown, and DeVonta Smith, were not present at the White House. Players cited "scheduling conflicts" as the reason they were not able to visit the White House.

Notably, this isn't the first time Trump has taken a jibe at Swift. In February, Trump trolled Swift after she was booed while the POTUS was reportedly cheered at the New Orleans Superdome during the Super Bowl.

Trump shared videos of the loud applause he got compared to the boos the pop icon received when she was shown on the big screen, according to Daily Mail.

He shared another user's post with the caption, “Trump gets massive cheers at the Super Bowl while Taylor Swift gets booed.”

Swift had criticized Trump in the past and backed Democratic candidate Kamala Harris in the 2024 election.
