'Insanely out of touch': Trump trolled for calling Jason Aldean 'biggest star in country music' at RNC

MILWAUKEE, WISCONSIN: Former President Donald Trump praised country music singer Jason Aldean in his marathon convention speech on the last day of the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee.
During his speech on July 18, the Republican nominee described Aldean, who attended the RNC with his wife Brittany Aldean, as "the biggest star in country music."
This is not the first time Trump has hailed Aldean. While introducing the singer at a New Year's Eve party, the real estate mogul said he was "number one in the world" and claimed he won "every award last week and last year."
The entertainment website Whiskey Riff, however, ridiculed Trump, pondering over what award the singer won in the week between Christmas and New Year's Eve.

Donald Trump says he likes Jason Aldean's wife Brittany Aldean 'better'
Though the MAGA spearhead praised Jason, he said he liked his wife more.
"And Jason, the biggest star in country music. Jason, thank you for being here. Jason thank you very much. Jason Aldean, he's good," the MAGA spearhead said. "I like his wife even better, by the way. She's here," he added, referring to Brittany.
Jason, who appeared in a casual grey t-shirt with a White cap, has spent time together with Trump before.
In several instances, he explicitly stated his support for the former president. During his recent performance of 'Try That in a Small Town' at a concert, Jason gave a shout-out to Trump, who survived an attempted assassination on July 13.
He dedicated the song to the MAGA spearhead and said, "We all know what's going to happen come November, so it's all good. Just goes to show you there's a lot of bull***t in the world, and that's kind of what this song right here was about, so this one goes out to the press."

Trump supported the singer when this controversial song was released in 2023. At the time, he wrote on Truth Social that Jason was a "fantastic guy who just came out with a great new song."
In an Instagram post following Trump's narrow escape from the fatal gunshot in Pennsylvania, Jason criticized the assasination attempt, calling it a "cowardly act." Posting the picture of the ex-president's raised fist with the American flag in the background, the singer wrote, "This is what a Warrior looks like!"

"Okay last trump speech tweet unless he does something crazy, but it is just. factually incorrect to call jason aldean the biggest star in country music. he is well past that point in his career," tweeted a third user.
"This is when he thanks Jason Aldean and says he is the 'biggest star in country music'! He is not. Not even close," someone else remarked, sharing a screenshot of Trump from the RNC floor.
"Now he called some clown appearing at the RNC the biggest star in country music. DOLLY PARTON AND WILLIE NELSON ARE BOTH STILL WITH US," another added.

Entertainment website Whiskey Riff's Facebook post sharing the news about Trump praising Aldean itself was a mocking swipe at the ex-president. The caption "Maybe a slight exaggeration..." indicated they disagreed with the praise.
One user commented below the post, "He loves women! We all know that already! He loves him some Jason Aldean, though!!"
