WASHINGTON, DC: President Donald Trump's net approval rating has hit its highest level in months as the rating sits at -1 point, with 47.8% approving and 48.8% disapproving, according to Decision Desk HQ's tracker, per Newsweek.

The MAGA leader's approval ratings have fluctuated in recent months as he pursued an aggressive policy agenda, including tariffs introduction, leading to volatile economic markets, an immigration plan based on deportations, and layoffs.

Donald Trump's approval rating reaches 47.8%

The last time the POTUS had a net approval rating lower than that was on March 10, 2025, when 48.6% disapproved and 47.9% approved, according to Newsweek.

If Trump's approval rating continues to rise, it could strengthen Republican momentum and complicate Democratic strategy heading into the 2026 midterms.

The Decision Desk HQ's tracker shows that after March 10, the president's approval rating declined and his disapproval rating spiked, peaking on April 28, when 53.4% disapproved and 44.2% approved. This resulted in a net approval rating of -9.2 points.

However, since then, Trump's net approval rating has been gradually on the rise. The tracker shows the general trend recently, proving that Trump's national approval ratings are going up marginally.

This has happened after a period of low numbers for the president after introducing his "Liberation Day" tariffs this April.

Trump's policy move rattled markets and prompted a sharp sell-off before an eventual recovery, Newsweek reported. Polls throughout April showed a decline in approval ratings.

However, the polls now suggest that the bleeding has stopped, as economic anxiety has somewhat subsided, per the outlet.
