WASHINGTON, DC: Political consultant Philippe Reines claims to be "unnerved" after watching Donald Trump's debate performance against Kamala Harris on Tuesday, September 10.

Reines stood in for the GOP nominee during the debate preparation of Vice President Harris, reported Raw Story. His claims on Trump during a panel discussion on CNN come amid concerns over the former president's health.

Trump is the oldest person to become a major party nominee for the White House in the history of the United States, at the age of 78. His former challenger, 81-year-old incumbent Joe Biden, faced similar concerns over his health and chose to suspend his reelection campaign in July, endorsing Harris in his stead.

What did Philippe Reines say about Donald Trump's health?

"The first thing I noticed ... there is something going on with his language," Philippe Reines told the CNN panelists.

"He always digressed. He would be talking about China tariffs and then talked about the Chinese bank being in Trump Tower. Now there's just this staccato, stopping short, not using proper nouns as much."

"Think about it, we all have friends with a laptop that's a little old and they should be replacing it, it drains the battery a little fast and it's heavier than it should be."

According to a report by the Express, Trump's voice sounded rough while he responded to Harris' opening remarks at the debate. Viewers suggested that he looked tired and strained, as he appeared to avoid Harris' gaze.

"And he is a different person," Reines continued on Trump.

"That is hard to tell because he looks generally the same and he's equally loud, and somehow being louder and tanner has been equated to health, and it's just not."

"There is something and, we saw today, irrespective of what the vice president did, what the former president did is very unnerving," he added.

Internet too shares concerns over Donald Trump's health

Netizens posted their concerns over Donald Trump's health on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) in light of his performance in the second presidetial debate of the 2024 cycle.

"Trump looks old tonight and jaundiced," wrote a user.

"Donald Trump looks old and tired. Low energy. Poor guy," stated another.

"Trump looks old, confused, and angry. Mixing up states, lying about abortion, rambling off topic. He looks sad and unfit," posted a third.

"Donald Trump looks like the flailing, mentally demented and declining 80 year old that he is," commented a fourth.

"Donald Trump looks old…Omg. What’s going on? He didn’t look like this with Biden," expressed a fifth.

"Oof Donald Trump looks old and barely coherent. I don’t think he has stayed on topic for a single question," echoed yet another.
