Harris insists on 'another debate' she owes to voters in response to Donald Trump's 'no third one' remark
CHARLOTTE, NORTH CAROLINA: Shortly after former president Donald Trump declared there would be "no third debate," Vice President Kamala Harris seemed to insist there should be one.
Harris made these remarks at a stage at her campaign rally in Charlotte, North Carolina, on Thursday, September 12.
Kamala Harris tells North Carolina rally 'we have some work to do'
During her speech, Kamala Harris expressed her willingness to participate in another debate after walking to the stage with loud cheers and 'Freedom' song by Beyonce, the soundtrack of her campaign.
"Okay, we have some work to do," she addressed the rally, adding, "Are we going to do this, North Carolina?" she asked.
"I believe we owe it to the voters to have another debate," Harris told the audience" Sky News reported.
Harris' remarks come after Trump accused her of declining to participate in NBC and CBS debates and wanting another debate because she was a loser.
"THERE WILL BE NO THIRD DEBATE!" Trump posted on Truth Social.
"When a prizefighter loses a fight, the first words out of his mouth are, “I WANT A REMATCH," Trump wrote.
"Polls clearly show that I won the Debate against Comrade Kamala Harris, the Democrats’ Radical Left Candidate, on Tuesday night, and she immediately called for a Second Debate," he continued.
Trump says his two debates were successful and didn't need another
Later during the campaign stop in Tucson, Arizona, Donald Trump said his earlier two debates were successful and there was no need for another debate as the voting has begun.
"Because we've done two debates and because they were successful, there will be no third debate. Too late anyway, the voting has already begun," he said, according to CBS News.
His attacks in truth social post focused not only on the debate format but also on broader issues, in his often repeated claim he wrote that Harris and President Joe Biden had "destroyed our Country."
Trump blamed Harris and Biden for what he described as the nation's current problems.
"Millions of criminals and mentally deranged people pouring into the USA, totally unchecked and unvetted, and with Inflation bankrupting our Middle Class. Everyone knows this, and all of the other problems caused by Kamala and Joe," Trump added to the post.
Robert F Kennedy Jr opens up on Kamala Harris
Many of Donald Trump's allies have seemingly agreed that Kamala Harris had the upper hand in the debate.
Robert F Kennedy Jr, who has endorsed Trump after exiting the presidential race, weighed in on Fox News.
He acknowledged Harris's strong delivery, saying, "Kamala Harris clearly won the debate in terms of her delivery, her polish, her organization, and her preparation," but noted, "I think on substance, President Trump wins in terms of his governance."
Kennedy further reflected on Trump’s debate performance, rsaying, "But he didn't tell that story," the station noted.
