WASHINGTON, DC: Doug Emhoff's first wife, Kerstin Emhoff, reportedly publicly speculated that JD Vance and his wife, Usha Vance, would divorce next year, shortly before the Daily Mail revealed the details of the second gentleman's infidelity.

In the exclusive report, published on Saturday, August 3, the outlet claimed Doug was engaged in an affair with his children's nanny and even got her pregnant while he was still married to his ex-wife.

On Wednesday, Kerstin made a rather distasteful prophecy about the Vances on X (formerly Twitter), writing, "Usha’s going to be in the ex-wives club in 2025. Mark my words."

Doug Emhoff admitted to his infidelity in a statement to CNN on Saturday. He said, "During my first marriage, Kerstin and I went through some tough times on account of my actions. I took responsibility, and in the years since, we worked through things as a family and have come out stronger on the other side."

Najen Naylor, the nanny involved in the affair, has not denied the allegations. When approached by the Daily Mail at her home in The Hamptons, she stated, "I’m kind of freaked out right now," but declined to comment further.

Sources close to the situation confirmed that Naylor did not keep the child from the affair. However, her social media shows a video of a baby girl named Brook in 2009, the year the child would have been born.

Right-wing activist and journalist Laura Loomer was the first to report on claims about an alleged affair involving Emhoff in an X post on Wednesday. She reported that five sources informed her the second gentleman had cheated on his first wife and fathered a child with a teacher at the Willows school.

The revelations about Doug's past have reportedly caused panic in Vice President Kamala Harris' campaign, coinciding with her recent rise in polls against Donald Trump.

The affair and subsequent fallout ended Doug and Kerstin's 16-year marriage in 2009.

Following the affair, Naylor left her teaching position at The Willows, an elite private elementary school in Culver City, California, where she had been teaching the Emhoff children, Cole and Ella, and working as their nanny. A friend with intimate knowledge of the scandal confirmed the affair to the Daily Mail but reiterated that Naylor did not keep the baby.

A mother whose children attended The Willows prior to 2009 also said she was aware of the affair, slamming Doug but praising Naylor. Other sources chose not to comment without Naylor's permission.

Doug Emhoff's first wife issues a statement after infidelity comes to light

Doug Emhoff met Kamala Harris, then California’s Attorney General, on a blind date in 2013, arranged by a friend. They married the following year.

Despite the affair, Doug's first wife, Kerstin, has spoken positively of Harris, defending her against attacks from the Republican VP nominee.

Kerstin said in a statement on Saturday, "Doug and I decided to end our marriage for a variety of reasons, many years ago. He is a great father to our kids, continues to be a great friend to me and I am really proud of the warm and supportive blended family Doug, Kamala, and I have built together."

The Washington Post reported that President Joe Biden’s team was aware of Doug's affair during the vetting process for vice presidential candidates in 2020. Harris also knew about the affair before marrying him.

Usha, the wife of the Republican VP pick, met her husband at Yale Law School. After law school, she clerked for conservative judges, including US Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh and Chief Justice John Roberts.

She later worked as a trial lawyer at the progressive law firm Munger, Tolles & Olson but left the firm after the Ohio senator was named Trump's running mate.
