WASHINGTON, DC: Elon Musk reignited his public feud with President Donald Trump, claiming on social media that Trump would have lost the 2024 presidential election without his support on Thursday, June 5.

The former DOGE chief has been increasingly vocal in recent days, first drawing attention by slamming Trump's so-called "Big Beautiful Bill". The latest fiery post has further fueled speculation that the simmering tensions between the two are boiling into a full-blown political cold war.

Elon Musk blasts Donald Trump's 'ingratitude'

The ongoing feud between Elon Musk and President Donald Trump over the controversial "Big, Beautiful Bill" escalated on Thursday, as Musk fired back at the president’s criticism.

In response to a clip of Trump claiming in the Oval Office that he "would have won Pennsylvania easily" without Musk’s backing in the election, Elon Musk fired back, writing, “Without me, Trump would have lost the election, Dems would control the House and the Republicans would be 51-49 in the Senate.

Such ingratitude.” Musk wrote in response to Trump’s remarks.

The president had voiced his frustration during a conversation with reporters in the Oval Office, saying, “I'm very disappointed because Elon knew the inner workings of this bill better than almost anybody sitting here, better than you people. He knew everything about it. He had no problem with it.”

Trump claimed Musk only took issue with the bill, saying, "All of a sudden, he had a problem. And he only developed the problem when he found out that we're going to have to cut the EV mandate."

Musk, however, strongly denied that assertion in a follow-up post, writing, “This bill was never shown to me even once and was passed in the dead of night so fast that almost no one in Congress could even read it!”

Musk has ramped up his criticism of the Trump administration and Republican lawmakers in recent days. Musk has mockingly referred to the measure as the “Big Ugly Bill,” and has instead advocated for what he calls a “Slim, Beautiful Bill”.

Earlier Thursday, he resurfaced old posts from Trump that appeared to support positions now echoed in Musk’s objections to the "Big, Beautiful Bill", as per Fox News.
