PALM BEACH, FLORIDA: Tesla founder and self-proclaimed free speech "absolutist" Elon Musk is making headlines again—this time for a profanity-laden tirade aimed at a student who criticized him.

It all started when Joni Askola — a Finnish graduate student and activist supporting Ukraine — called out Musk for allegedly spreading disinformation.

In a now-viral post on X (formerly Twitter), Askola declared: “Elon Musk is rapidly becoming the largest spreader of disinformation in human history, hijacking political debates in the process. The EU must take action!”

Elon Musk fires back with controversial slur

Elon Musk’s response was anything but diplomatic. He fired back with a shocking slur: “F u r****d.”

And that wasn’t all. Musk doubled down by agreeing with another inflammatory post that read, “We could have avoided a lot of disasters by simply telling leftist r*tards to stfu.”

He offered a word response: “Yes.”

This isn’t just a one-off outburst. Musk seems to have made a deliberate choice to reintroduce the slur into right-wing discourse, particularly on his platform, X. According to an analysis of his posts and replies, Musk has used the term—or some variation of it—15 times since December 20. But never before that, per the Daily Beast.

What’s surprising is the timing, considering his tirade came just days after he posted a plea for more positivity on X: “Please post a bit more positive, beautiful, or informative content on this platform.”

A charming sentiment—except it came right after another meltdown where Musk used his favorite slur to lash out at Americans over H-1B visa debates. In that instance, Musk agreed with a post implying Americans couldn’t fill the US tech workforce alone, urging critics to “take a big step back and F**K YOURSELF in the face.”

Right-wing allies and alleged spread of fake news

Elon Musk isn’t the only one throwing around slurs like confetti.

Right-wing activist Laura Loomer, who has her own love-hate relationship with Musk, has used the same term multiple times, including against musician Macklemore after he voiced support for Palestine.

"Wow. @macklemore is a straight up r****d. His anti-Israel and pro-HAMAS music video features a giant red spray painted sign in the beginning that says “FREE PALASTINE”. Hey you wannabe black rapper, f**king r****d. “PALASTINE” is spelled PALESTINE. Also, you’re donating all the proceeds to @UNRWA

which is openly supporting HAMAS and has even been accused of employing and proving aid to members of HAMAS. F**ing moron," she wrote.

But Musk’s controversies go beyond name-calling. He’s been accused of spreading fake news on X, earning himself the title of “disinformation super-spreader” by France 24.

According to the outlet, Musk shared at least 28 fake news stories in just three weeks last October—stories that racked up an astonishing 540 million views.

One of his most notable missteps was reportedly sharing a fake Telegraph article last year that falsely claimed British Prime Minister Keir Starmer was considering sending far-right rioters to “emergency detainment camps” in the Falklands.

Elon Musk’s newfound obsession with the UK

Musk testified at a trial regarding a lawsuit that has investors suing Tesla and Musk over his August 2018 tweets saying he was taking Tesla private with funding that he had secured. The tweet was found to be false and cost shareholders billions of dollars when Tesla's stock price began to fluctuate wildly allegedly based on the tweet.

Recently, Musk has had his sights set squarely on Britain. In a series of posts, he questioned whether the US should “liberate the people of Britain from their tyrannical government".

If that wasn’t enough, Musk has also thrown his weight behind Stephen Yaxley-Lennon, better known as Tommy Robinson—a right-wing activist with a checkered past.

Robinson’s rap sheet includes convictions for mortgage fraud, assault, and allegations of stalking a female journalist. Currently serving an 18-month sentence for spreading false allegations about a Syrian refugee, Robinson has found a vocal supporter in Musk, who’s been demanding his release.

Musk’s criticism of the UK government has focused on their handling of investigations into organized gangs accused of heinous crimes. He has even called for the imprisonment of a junior minister in the new Labour government, as well as the resignation of a right-wing party leader, per the Daily Beast.
