Emma Rigdon: Missouri mom filmed herself abusing infant son, texted pal about urge to ‘kill’ baby
ST LOUIS, MISSOURI: A 20-year-old Missouri mom was arrested for reportedly recording herself while abusing her infant son while texting an acquaintance that she wanted to "kill him", People reported.
Emma Rigdon has been charged with two counts of child abuse or neglect related to the incident that occurred on Monday, April 15.
What did Emma Rigdon do?
According to a probable cause statement from St Louis police, Rigdon was present at the residence at 1200 block of Warren Avenue when she reportedly pinched and slapped her son's leg.
She then allegedly covered his nose and mouth with her hand, causing him difficulty in breathing and prompting him to flail his arms and legs. Rigdon purportedly recorded this incident on video and sent it to an acquaintance.
Additionally, police stated that Rigdon made a second video showing her placing a blanket and her hand over the victim’s mouth, which caused the infant to cry and attempt to grab the blanket.
She also sent this video to an acquaintance.
In a text message cited in the statement, she allegedly wrote, "IDK when I do that, I feel happy like adrenalin (sic) rush, I be stopping right before he dies. Last time he was blue."
She allegedly added, "I really wanna kill him but I don't want to go to jail so. It's unfortunate. He’s just gonna have to pay for his existence."
Rigdon was denied bond, and a preliminary hearing is scheduled for May 21. Her attorney could not be reached for comment.

Sanaa Riggins, aged 4, was discovered unresponsive at her father's residence on Saturday, March 16, shortly after 6:20 pm local time.
Police stated their initial investigation revealed Riggins died from a drug overdose after being exposed to heroin found near her father's bed.

Huntspon, 32, is held on a $500,000 bond after being charged with first-degree endangering the welfare of a child resulting in death.
