NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: President Joe Biden took to X (formerly Twitter) on Monday, March 4, to provide an update on Medicare and his plans to provide better healthcare to Americans.

He went on to make a series of posts on the subject, slamming Republicans for the increasing expense of healthcare. However, netizens were not taken in by his words and speculated he was actually on the side of the pharmaceutical companies.

President Biden took to X (formerly Twitter) to make three posts about healthcare.

In the first one, he shared his resolve to continue the Affordable Care Act of 2010, writing, "Trump and MAGA Republicans are promising again to get rid of the Affordable Care Act, which protects millions of Americans with preexisting conditions who cannot afford to get insurance. We won’t let it happen."

The incumbent took up Medicare and drug prices in his next post, stating, "I am proud to announce that the manufacturers for all ten selected drugs will continue to participate in my program to allow Medicare to negotiate lower prices. We are delivering in spite of opposition from Big Pharma and MAGA Republicans."

His third post, which took on House Republicans in particular, read, "Every single House Republican voted against allowing Medicare to negotiate lower drug prices."

It was accompanied by a poster carrying the words, "EVERY HOUSE REPUBLICAN VOTED AGAINST THE INFLATION REDUCTION ACT," along with photographs, names, and states of the GOP representatives.

Notably, the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022, which was signed into law on August 16, 2022, seeks to "provide meaningful financial relief for millions of people with Medicare by improving access to affordable treatments and strengthening the Medicare Program both now and in the long run," as per Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services

"You’ve made more pharma billionaires than anyone on earth," claimed one, while another wrote, "Really? The manufacturers you are supposedly negotiating with is Big Pharma. You have a real problem with Staffers because I know you aren't writing this."

A person remarked, "Let us know when any of that will actually impact the American people instead of empty promises to buy votes!"

"Great. More collaboration between Govt and BigPharma. I’m sure they’ll keep everything transparent and honest," stated someone else.

An individual claimed, "Joe Biden raised drug prices on day one of his administration by rescinding Trump rules which lowered them. He later lowered them and claimed credit for essentially doing what Trump did. Biden’s only few accomplishments have been taking credit for what Trump did. Disgraceful!"
