OREM, UTAH: Erika Kirk, the grieving widow of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, was left “rattled” after learning that the feminist website Jezebel had published a disturbing article boasting about paying witches on Etsy to curse her husband—just two days before he was fatally shot, according to 'The Megyn Kelly Show.'

On her Tuesday, September 23 broadcast, Megyn Kelly blasted the outlet for publishing what she called “vile” content, revealing that the story had deeply unsettled the couple shortly before Charlie was killed by a gunshot to the neck on September 10. Erika Kirk speaks during the memorial service for her husband, political activist Charlie Kirk at State Farm Stadium on September 21, 2025 in Glendale, Arizona. What was in the article about cursing Charlie Kirk?

A disturbing Jezebel article published on September 8 targeted 31-year-old Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk, branding him a “far-right misogynist.” The unnamed author admitted to purchasing “multiple curses” from witches on Etsy, aiming to punish Kirk for what she described as “years of regressive rhetoric.”

Megyn Kelly condemned the piece during her SiriusXM show, expressing outrage at both Jezebel and Etsy. “This is what I want you all, and the people at Jezebel and Etsy, to know,” she said.

“Erika and Charlie Kirk heard about these curses and that news genuinely rattled Erika, in particular. She knew Christian teaching on the subject, she loved Charlie, absolutely, and she was scared when she heard of the curses Jezebel had culled up."

Kelly continued, “Why torture a family like this, a Christian believing family? Why do this vile thing to a young couple, parents to two babies living in accordance with the gospel, deeply in love, and yes, political, but doing nothing other than speaking publicly about their views and their desires to make other people’s lives better."

She questioned, “Who would do such a vile thing? Jezebel, that’s who, and unbelievably, Etsy.”

Megyn Kelly has demanded that feminist website Jezebel publicly apologize to Charlie Kirk’s family after it published an article describing how the author paid witches on Etsy to curse the conservative activist.

Kelly, who said she was “horrified” by the piece, slammed Jezebel for promoting what she called “evil,” despite the publication later removing the article following Kirk’s death.

Kirk, a father of two and close ally of Donald Trump, was fatally shot in the neck while speaking to thousands at Utah Valley University during the first stop of his American Comeback Tour. The alleged gunman, 22-year-old Tyler Robinson, fired a single fatal shot.

Jezebel initially added an editor’s note to the article condemning the act of violence after news of Kirk’s death broke but later pulled the piece entirely from its site.

On her show, Kelly called on the outlet to shut down altogether, to reveal the identity of the article’s author, and for Etsy to ban the sale of witchcraft-related curses.

“Both entities should issue an immediate full-throated apology to Erika Kirk for introducing this awfulness into her beautiful family and causing her or Charlie any distress whatsoever in what would be the waning hours of his life,” Kelly said angrily. She added, “The people behind this evil should be called out.”
