CHICAGO, ILLINOIS: ESPN sports analyst Stephen A Smith commented regarding Vice President Kamala Harris' speech at the Democratic National Convention (DNC) earlier this week that while she had a difficult beginning, she was "sensational" after the first 10 minutes.

“I thought she was too much into her resume and her bio, sort of capitulating to all the noise about, you know, her qualifications,” Smith told News Nation’s Chris Cuomo on Friday, August 23, adding “but after that, I thought she was sensational.”

Other political figures claimed Kamala Harris was more fit to be in office than Donald Trump

Throughout the course of the week, several politicians stood on stage and argued that Kamala Harris was a better candidate for government than Donald Trump. “She fed off the momentum that was built in the days leading up to the encore performance,” he continued, calling speeches from former president Obama and first lady Michelle Obama “sensational.”

After President Joe Biden stepped down, Harris shot to the top of the ticket, setting fundraising records and drawing large crowds to her rallies across the nation. Her address wrapped up a hectic few weeks. Although she and her running companion, Democratic Governor of Minnesota Tim Walz, have been busy, Walz stated they can rest when they pass.

Stephen A Smith says Kamala Harris’ speech was a perfect way to end the DNC

Stephen A Smith claimed that because Kamala Harris' speech was so different from Donald Trump's lengthy address at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee last month, adding that "it was the ideal way to close out the DNC."

“You were waiting for the encore performance and praying that Kamala Harris did not resemble Donald Trump and his speech to cap off the Republican National Convention in any way,” Smith said. “And she certainly was not guilty of that. She was absolutely sensational for the last 25 to 30 minutes, making her case to the American people on behalf of the Democratic Party,” he added.
