WASHINGTON, DC: Longtime Democrat and Kamala Harris supporter Jamie Metzl has publicly praised President Donald Trump’s attack on Iran, calling it bold and even claiming that the former vice president wouldn't have taken such a step.

Metzl, who served on the National Security Council under former president Bill Clinton and was a senior aide to then-Senator Joe Biden, has a deep history with the Democratic Party and is known for his criticism of Trump.

His unexpected endorsement of Trump's action is now making waves across political and social media circles.

Jamie Metzl praises Donald Trump for taking bold steps to defend America’s interests

As tensions between Iran and Israel escalate and US strikes hit Iranian nuclear sites, prominent Democrat Jamie Metzl has made his position unmistakably clear. In a series of detailed posts on X (formerly Twitter), the former Biden aide offered rare praise for President Donald Trump.

Metzl opened by emphasizing the global stakes of the strikes, writing, “The world will be a better place if Iran’s nuclear bomb development capacities have been degraded or destroyed.”

While making it clear he’s no Republican loyalist, Metzl added, “I am not a fan of many of Donald Trump‘s actions, but I will speak openly and honestly when he takes bold steps defending America’s interests, as he did tonight.”

Jamie Metzl then reaffirmed his deep Democratic credentials before expanding on his position, writing, “I served on the National Security Council under President Clinton. I was Joe Biden’s Deputy Staff Director of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. I voted for Kamala Harris and have been a vocal critic of many dangerous and undemocratic actions taken by President Trump.”

He continued, “I’m not a blind tribalist and am perfectly comfortable praising President Trump for bold and courageous actions in support of America’s core national interests, as he took last night."

Metzl didn’t hold back in his assessment of Iran, calling its regime an enemy of the US for nearly half a century. “Iran has been at war with the United States for 46 years. Its regime has murdered thousands of American citizens. Its slogan 'death to America' was not window dressing but core ideology,” the longtime Democrat stated.

He warned of the risks involved in such military actions but acknowledged their necessity, writing, “No actions like this come without risks, and I imagine the story will get more complicated over time, but that’s why these types of decisions are complicated."

In a final reflection, Metzl contrasted Trump’s decision with what he believes Harris might have done.

“Although I believe electing Kamala Harris would have been better for our democracy, society, and economy, as well as for helping the most vulnerable people in the United States and around the world, I also believe VP Harris would not have had the courage or fortitude to take such an essential step as the president took last night,” Metzl mentioned.

Internet agrees and appreciates Jamie Metzl’s support for Donald Trump’s strike against Iran

Jamie Metzl’s praise for Donald Trump’s actions during the Iran-Israel conflict is drawing widespread attention, as many commend him for his bold stance.

One wrote, "Thank you! I really appreciate when a liberal voice speaks impartially, even at the risk of supporting Trump. To overcome American polarization and division, more voices like yours are needed. I hope that Republicans take note of and remember your independent viewpoints."

Another suggested, "Teach your team to think soundly like yourself. I appreciate your rigor. I am a Goldwater paleoconservative and yearn for good debate amongst our political rivals. It's vital."

A person expressed, "I appreciate your comments about Trump, but your delusions on what a Kamala presidency would have been lost your credibility"

A Trump supporter added, "Thank you for your nice comments. It’s exactly who we voted for. Strong and decisive. He also loves all Americans. Get to know his softer side too."

"Thank God Trump was brave enough to do this strike," another tweet read.

One more wrote, "Thank you for your honesty. It's refreshing."
