MAR-A-LAGO, FLORIDA: Former White House press secretary Stephanie Grisham has commented on former president Donald Trump's press conference, describing it as a sign of his anxiety.

Trump announced the press conference that took place at Mar-a-Lago in Florida where he also took questions, following a surge of positive media attention towards Vice President Kamala Harris.

Stephanie Grisham says Donald Trump hates Kamala Harris' media coverage

Grisham shared her thoughts on the situation via social platform X where she hinted that Trump's actions reflect frustration over the recent spotlight on Harris who continues to gain momentum in her campaign.

Stephanie Grisham has served as White House communications director and as chief of staff to former first lady Melania Trump.

“Re: Trump’s self-announced press conference today at 2 pm: He’s panicking,”  Grisham wrote on X.

She further explained her viewpoint stating, “I’ve seen this play many times. He thinks his team is failing him & no one can speak better/‘save’ his campaign/defend him but him. He hates the coverage Harris is getting & thinks only he can fix it."

Donald Trump praises JD Vance and desires three presidential debates

In response to Stephanie Grisham’s comments, a Trump campaign spokesperson offered a sharp retort. “She should stick to talking about the Bombay Club in DC rather than politics,” the spokesperson told The Hill.

Meanwhile, during the press conference at Mar-a-Lago, Trump addressed several issues, including his desire for more presidential debates.

“We’d like to do three debates. We think we should do three debates,” Trump said, according to CNN.

At the same press conference, Trump also spoke about the possibility of a vice-presidential debate and took the opportunity to praise his running mate, Ohio Senator JD Vance.

“JD Vance has really stepped up. He’s doing a fantastic job,” Trump said.

Regarding his campaign strategy, Trump stated that he “hasn’t recalibrated strategy at all” since Vice President Kamala Harris became the Democratic presidential nominee.

He also criticized Harris, accusing her of being “weak on crime” and promoting “open borders.” Trump said, “I think she’s worse than Biden.”

Internet says 'best thing' for Democrats is 'Trump and Vance in front of cameras'

The Internet backed Stephanie Grisham's claim, suggesting that Donald Trump on camera was good for Democrats. She also received ridicule from certain users on X who expressed their opinion on the matter.

One user remarked, “The best thing for dems is Trump and Vance in front of cameras.”

Another wrote, “Let him speak. The person who destroys Trump the most is Trump.”

In defense of the former president, one user commented, “Trump doesn’t panic.” Another added, “Nope! Sorry. He is proving that he can answer questions from the same media that is propping up and shielding Kamala and Walz.”
