Jenna Ellis shredded as her law license gets suspended after guilty plea in Georgia election case
WASHINGTON, DC: In exchange for her felony guilty plea in the Georgia election interference case, former Donald Trump attorney Jenna Ellis has accepted a three-year Colorado law license suspension. She also asked anyone still holding onto the assumption that an election was stolen to think again, as reported by Mediaite.
A Georgia grand jury indicted the former president and 18 others in August 2023 for allegedly trying to rig the state's 2020 election.

In late September of 2023, Scott Hall, a former bail bondsman from Georgia, entered a guilty plea. The following month, attorneys Sidney Powell and Kenneth Chesebro both entered guilty pleas, closely followed by Ellis.
She attempted to portray herself as a novice attorney who naively relied on more seasoned counsel in an apology statement that was a part of her plea agreement.
However, she acknowledged making false claims, neglecting to "make sure that the facts the other lawyers alleged to be true were in fact true," and "failed to do my due diligence" during the "frenetic pace" of the 2020 election challenge.
Claiming she "look[ed] back on this whole experience with deep remorse," she added, "If I knew then what I know now, I would have declined to represent Donald Trump in these post-election challenges."
According to local Denver NBC affiliate 9News, a Colorado state bar disciplinary court authorized a settlement between Ellis and the state's Office of Attorney Regulation Counsel on Tuesday, May 28, suspending her license for three years.
Ellis' acts included several instances of "significant actual harm," noted the judge in the court's ruling, particularly in light of the way she "undermined the American public's confidence in the presidential election process."
While observing that "disbarment is the presumptive action" for Ellis' misconduct, the judge did consider the arguments made by two government watchdog groups advocating for her disbarment. Nevertheless, the judge ultimately ruled leniently because Ellis' criminal culpability "was due to her conduct as an accessory, not as a principal."
The former Trump attorney stated that she was "choosing to take responsibility for my actions and my association with the harm caused to the nation by the post-election activities of 2020 on behalf of then-President Donald Trump" in a letter that was presented to the court as part of the agreement to let her escape disbarment.
She wrote, "Since my involvement in the Trump Campaign’s challenges to the election results, I have learned of the bad faith dealing and outright illegality of some actors involved."
"For example, I did not know at the time of the Campaign’s commissioned investigation into the 2020 election results, or that the President was notified in December 2020 that he had lost. A lot of new information has come out, which I encourage the public to consider," claimed Ellis.
"The harm of my participation in the Georgia Senate Judiciary Subcommittee hearing is painfully evident to this day. Millions have been misled by the cynical 'Stop the Steal' campaign, and otherwise responsible leaders are still publicly maintaining that these false claims have merit," further noted the disgraced attorney.
Internet reacts as Jenna Ellis' law license is suspended as a part of her plea deal
One of the online comments read, "I can't believe she didn't fact check whether the ghost of Hugo Chavez was magically manipulating votes in Germany. Rookie mistake," while a person declared, "You belong in prison."
Someone else mentioned, "If you read her tweets you’ll see she still wants it both ways on 2020. The only cure to this confusion is permanent license revocation and possible prison. These MAGA traitors have to learn their lesson."
"What a joke! She should be spending the rest of her life in a federal prison for treason. You don't need a law degree or any education at all to know what she was trying to do was overthrow the US government any way she could. A few thousand dollars- nothing to a lawyer- a hundred hours of community service and she gets her license to commit fraud and treason back in three years," noted an individual.
