WASHINGTON, DC: White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt has often been in the limelight for her interactions with the media and the way she responds to tough questions. She has also frequently defended President Donald Trump against criticism.

Recently, a rumor circulated online claiming that Karoline Leavitt said President Donald Trump “doesn’t care if you’re black, brown, yellow or normal.” But is there any truth to this claim? Let’s find out below.

Claim: Claim: Viral posts quote Karoline Leavitt on Trump and race

Several social media posts claimed that White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said, “President Trump is not a racist. He doesn't care if you're black, brown, yellow, or normal.”

The posts, shared on X, Threads, and Facebook, did not include any video, audio recording, or transcript to support the claim.

X user @TheFungi669 wrote, “Karoline Leavitt: ‘President Trump is not a racist. He doesn’t care if you’re black, brown, yellow or normal.’” The claim, using the same wording, was later shared on Facebook and Threads.

Fact Check: False, no credible evidence to back the claim

The claims made in the online rumor are false, as there is no credible evidence to prove that Karoline Leavitt said, “President Trump is not a racist. He doesn't care if you're black, brown, yellow, or normal.”

Moreover, searches on major search engines, including Google and Bing, found no credible news reports supporting the rumor. If Leavitt had made such a statement, multiple news outlets would likely have reported on it.

Additionally, the quote originated from a post on the X account @TheFungi669, whose display name was “Captain Obvious.” In 2023, the account’s display name was “Captain Parody,” and the account owner has repeatedly noted that it publishes parody content, Snopes reported.

Karoline Leavitt clashes with Kaitlan Collins over inflation and media bias

On December 11, Karoline Leavitt reiterated President Trump’s call for CNN to be sold. The remark came moments after a tense, minutes-long confrontation with CNN anchor Kaitlan Collins dominated the daily White House briefing.

The White House press secretary argued that the network’s ratings had “declined,” saying CNN “would benefit from new ownership” as part of the broader Warner Bros. Discovery negotiations now underway.

Earlier, Collins challenged Leavitt on Trump’s messaging around inflation and holiday spending. What began as a standard question about economic “mixed signals” quickly devolved into repeated interruptions, accusations of bias, and a broader clash over how the press covered inflation during the Biden administration.

The confrontation escalated when Collins questioned Leavitt about Trump’s advice that parents buy “two or three dolls” for Christmas despite his claims that the economy is strong.

Leavitt argued that the president was promoting American-made products, which she said may cost “a dollar or two more but are better quality” and support US workers. Collins pushed back, pointing to lingering affordability concerns and rising grocery prices. Leavitt countered by saying inflation had dramatically improved under Trump and blamed Biden for creating an economic “hole” that Trump had “clawed us out of.”

Leavitt said, “Nobody reported inflation being high under Biden!” while accusing the press corps of giving the previous administration a pass.
