Fact Check: Did Nancy Guthrie slam Trump for mocking Biden’s speaking style?

Let us fact-check the claim.

Claim: Nancy Guthrie slammed Donald Trump

Following the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie, a screenshot from a Facebook handle that appears to belong to Guthrie shows a post where Trump is mocking former President Biden’s speaking style. The post came with a caption saying, ‘Disgusting.’

The screenshot of the post was shared on X on Wednesday, which came with the caption saying, “She calls Trump disgusting on January 13th, and then the White House is nice enough to retweet her missing poster and send federal agents who she doesn't support to help find her.  Could 100% be the reason she's missing.”

Fact Check: The post is from a fake account

The post, however, is false, as it is from a fake Facebook handle named Nancy Guthrie, while her original Facebook account has no such post. 

A fact check by Grok, the AI assistant of X, also confirmed the post to be fake, stating, “The screenshot appears to be fabricated or manipulated, as reports on her recent Facebook activity show her last posts were on January 27, 2026 — one sharing a video about the game Mahjong."

"And another reposting a Reel about a nurse who was reportedly shot by ICE during a protest (though that Reel was later identified as misinformation from a 2020 clip)."

"No posts from January 13 matching the description in the screenshot (or any about Trump mocking Biden) have been documented in coverage of her social media history.”

Donald Trump mocks Joe Biden's speaking style

Trump was speaking at the Detroit Economic Club in Michigan on Tuesday, January 13, when he turned his attention to Joe Biden, ridiculing the former president’s speaking habits, focusing on coughing before speeches.

“You ever notice Joe would always cough before a speech?” Trump said. Referencing the State of the Union, he added, “State of the Union, he goes…” before breaking into a mock coughing fit. Trump then followed with a wheezy impression, ending with a strained, “Ladies and gentlemen.”

According to a report by The Mirror, “The routine was met not with laughter, but silence. Trump continued by criticizing Biden’s speeches as 'very short,'" before adding, “Although the one time they had him spruced up pretty good."
