WASHINGTON, DC: A claim has been circulating on social media platforms that acting Attorney General Todd Blanche said that there is plenty of evidence against Governor Tim Walz in the Minnesota fraud case to convene a grand jury. The claim has sparked both criticisms and speculations, so let us analyse and fact-check it.

The claim surfaced on Facebook, stating, “Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche says there's plenty of evidence against Tim Walz in the Minnesota fraud case to convene a grand jury and suggest charges.”

Blanche allegedly said, "Not only is Governor Walz a suspect in more than a billion dollars in Medicaid fraud, but he's also using taxpayer money to fund the domestic te**orist organization 'Antifa.'"

“Blanche told reporters that former Attorney General Pam Bondi had all of this information but chose not to ‘prioritize’ the case. Her stance was that she could deal with it later. We're taking a more aggressive approach," the post further claimed. 

Fact Check: Todd Blanche never made such a remark

The claim is false as there are no credible reports or statements from the newly appointed acting Attorney General making such an announcement.

A search on Google for the claim yielded no results, which, if true, would have been widely covered by prominent news media outlets. There is also evidence that supports the claim that Blanche made the above-mentioned remarks.

Moreover, the claim was posted by a Facebook page called "America’s Last Line of Defense" that describes itself as a parody account. The page even states in the bio, "Nothing on this page is real."

Todd Blanche recently made his first public remarks since Pam Bondi’s exit as Attorney General from the Department of Justice, using the moment to both outline his priorities and openly praise President Donald Trump.

Speaking at an anti-fraud press conference, he made it clear that his future in the role depends entirely on the president’s decision.

Blanche did not hold back when it came to expressing admiration for the president. “As to whether or not I want this job, I did not ask for this job. I love working for President Trump,” he said.

He went on to call the opportunity “the greatest honor of a lifetime,” making it clear that he sees his current position as a privilege rather than an ambition he actively pursued.
