WASHINGTON, DC: Social media users are sharing a shocking claim alleging that President Donald Trump fired a longtime Secret Service food tester after Vice President JD Vance reportedly saw the agent sprinkle an unidentified “spice” on Trump’s meal during a dinner in Washington, DC.

The rumor quickly gained traction across fringe websites and social platforms, sparking concern about a possible security breach inside the President’s protective detail.

Jason Riley and Allyson Philips, the parents of 22-year-old Laken Riley, a University of Georgia nursing student who was murdered in 2024 by an undocumented immigrant, attended the signing ceremony. Among other measures, the law directs law enforcement authorities to detain and deport immigrants who are accused but not yet convicted of specific crimes, if they are in the country illegally. Claim: Trump fired food tester after JD Vance saw meal tampering in DC

According to multiple viral posts and an article published by the disinformation site Real Raw News, President Donald Trump allegedly dismissed his Secret Service food tester following an incident at Joe’s Seafood, Prime Steak & Stone Crab in Washington, DC.

The post claimed that JD Vance saw the food tester add an unidentified “spice” to Trump’s plate and immediately alerted security. It further alleged that Trump fired the agent “on the spot” and ordered a full internal review. The supposed event was said to have occurred during a September dinner, but no official record or eyewitness account supports any of these details.

Fact Check: No evidence Trump fired a Secret Service food tester

According to CNN, Trump dined out in Washington, DC, only once during his second term — on September 9, 2025 — at Joe’s Seafood, Prime Steak & Stone Crab. The report, titled “Trump dines out in DC for first time in his second term, asserting crime crackdown made city safe,” covered the evening in detail and mentioned that JD Vance was seated across from Trump. No incident resembling food tampering or staff dismissal was reported.

The White House also shared official photos from the dinner titled “President Donald Trump has dinner with Cabinet members and White House staff at Joe’s Seafood, Prime Steak & Stone Crab restaurant,” with no reference to any internal probe.

A search for “Trump fires Secret Service food tester” or “JD Vance Trump food tester” yields no results from reputable news sources, confirming the story is fabricated.
