WASHINGTON, DC: An image claiming to show a post by President Donald Trump on Truth Social went viral in November 2025, after the US House Oversight Committee released a trove of documents related to disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein.

The alleged post urged followers to “move on” from “all that stuff with Epstein” and suggested that “14 is old enough to make your own decisions,” seemingly referencing the age of some of Epstein’s victims.

A Facebook user shared a supposed screenshot that claimed to show Donald Trump posting on Truth Social.

In the alleged post, Trump said, “All that stuff with Epstein was a long time ago!! Everyone just needs to move on!! There are real problems facing our nation!! Problems caused by Joe Biden!” The screenshot also showed Trump saying, “There's a commie running NYC!! Nobody wants to hear about Epstein!! Epstein!! Epstein!! Nobody cares!!” It continued with, “It's all a Democratic hoax!! Besides, 14 is old enough to make your own decisions!! Thank you for your attention to this matter!!"

The mention of 14-year-olds appeared to reference the Justice Department’s findings when it charged Jeffrey Epstein in 2019, stating that some of his alleged victims “were as young as 14 at the time he abused them.” Epstein died by suicide in a New York City jail while awaiting trial that same year.

The supposed Truth Social post spread quickly across Facebook groups, and it also appeared on X and Instagram, leading many users to ask, “Is this for real?”

Fact Check: False, Alleged Trump Epstein post confirmed as fake

Even though the alleged Trump screenshot spread widely across social media, checks on both Trump’s Truth Social profile and the official Truth Social archive site found no record of a post dated November 14, the date shown in the viral image.

The look of the supposed post also raised red flags. The fonts were wrong, the date format didn’t match Truth Social’s style, and the usual verification emblem next to Trump’s username was missing. Because of these inconsistencies, fact-checkers labeled the screenshot as fake.

A White House official confirmed in an email that the post was “obviously fake.” A review of Trump’s real Truth Social activity showed that he made three posts about Epstein on November 14, 2025, but none of them used the wording seen in the viral screenshot.

A closer look at the fake screenshot made the hoax even clearer. The creator likely used an online tool designed to generate fake social media posts.

The username, profile picture, and engagement numbers in the viral image were blurred, something that doesn’t happen on real posts on Truth Social. Additionally, the platform uses the date format “Nov 14, 2025” in a sans serif font, while the fake screenshot displayed “11/14/2025” in a serif font, confirming it was fake.
