WASHINGTON, DC: Just‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ a couple of days after President Donald Trump received the brand new "FIFA Peace Prize - Football Unites the World" in December 2025, a screenshot started circulating online that seemed to show him promoting the award on his social media platform, Truth Social.

At the 2026 World Cup draw held at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC, Trump was presented the award by FIFA President Gianni ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌Infantino.

Claim: Trump said he brought peace to the 'Isle of Fifa'

A Facebook page, The tribe, shared the apparent screenshot on December 7, 2025, with the caption, "Trump defends his 'FIFA Peace Prize,' accompanied by what seemed to be a truth social post from Trump's @realDonaldTrump account."

In the supposed post, dated December 6, 2025, 11,47 am, which apparently got 1.85k ReTruths and 7.22k likes, Trump wrote, "STOP SAYING MY FIFA PRIZE AWARD IS A PARTICIPATION TROPHY!! I earned it by working 26 hours a day, 8 days a week, to bring peace to the warring people on the isle of Fifa! They told me 'Sir, no, other President in history has done what I have done to the Fifanian people!'"

The‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ alleged single screenshot that was shared across Facebook groups, Instagram, Reddit, Threads, and X was the topic of debate, in which some users argued for its authenticity while others argued against it.

It went viral on the internet because FIFA is the international governing body for association football (soccer), based in Zürich, Switzerland, and not a "warring people" territory where a president could bring peace.

Fact Check: There's no evidence that Trump ever made the post

There is an absence of proof regarding Trump actually sharing the post, according to fact-checking outlet Snopes.

The supposed statement can nowhere be found in the independent archives of his Truth Social activity, no trustworthy source has linked to a live version of the post, and a number of accounts that shared it have spoken of the image as a joke.

Snopes checked Truth Social, the actual social media platform of Trump, through a public archive, and they could not find any posts that match that screenshot.

While there are several posts about the FIFA Peace Prize, none of them correspond to the viral screenshot. None of the archived posts from December 5 to 7, or any other date, contained phrases such as "Isle of Fifa" or "Fifanian people." A search for "Fifanian" on Truth Social only returned results for "Iranian."

Thus, it can be concluded that this post, which claims Trump said the above-mentioned things, is false and fabricated.
