An X post shared by user @infogram claims, “BREAKING : Donald Trump has just said that he hasn't committed a single crime in his 79 years of life."
The post quickly gained traction online, drawing more than 36,000 views and prompting widespread discussion about the authenticity of the alleged statement.
The claim emerges during Trump’s second term as president, a period marked by heightened political tensions.
In recent weeks, reports circulating online have also referenced his remarks on the escalating conflict with Iran, including warnings of severe consequences if demands are not met, threats targeting Iranian infrastructure, and comments interpreted by some as dismissing concerns about potential violations of international law.
Against this backdrop, the alleged denial of ever committing any crime has fueled further debate, with critics describing it as defiant while others question whether the statement has been accurately represented or taken out of context.
Fact Check: Trump did not make a statement that he has not committed any crimes in his life
There is no verified evidence that Donald Trump has ever made an official or literal statement claiming, “I have not committed any crimes in my life.” He has, however, repeatedly denied wrongdoing in specific legal cases, often describing the prosecutions against him as political and maintaining his innocence in various indictments and trials.
His legal team has also argued in court that he did not commit crimes in connection with particular allegations, including hush-money and election-related cases. In broader political messaging, Trump has frequently stated that he is being “unfairly targeted” or “exonerated,” but these claims are not equivalent to a blanket assertion about never having committed any crime in his lifetime.
There is no credible transcript or record of him making such a universal claim, and viral posts attributing this wording to him remain unverified and potentially misleading.
At the same time, it is also inaccurate to claim that Trump has no criminal record. In May 2024, a New York jury convicted him on 34 felony counts of falsifying business records in the first degree. The conviction remains on record as of April 2026, although he received no jail time, fines, or probation. Trump has appealed the verdict and pursued legal efforts to challenge the case, including arguments related to presidential immunity, but the conviction has not been overturned or expunged.
Other federal and state-level cases against him, including those related to classified documents and election interference, have been dismissed or dropped following his 2024 election victory and return to office.
