Although indeed, Trump was loudly booed at Madison Square Garden in New York City on Monday night before the start of Game 3 of the NBA Finals between the home team Knicks and the San Antonio Spurs, there are no reports of him leaving the venue because of it.

A search on Google for the claim yielded only those reports of him being booed, and no credible results from prominent news media outlets about leaving Madison Square Garden.

Moreover, the claim was posted by a parody X account called ‘Daily Noud, ’ which describes itself in the bio as ‘These are fake stories.’

A fact check by Grok confirmed, “This post from the parody account @DailyNoud is false. Trump was loudly booed by many Knicks fans at Madison Square Garden during the national anthem before Game 3 of the 2026 NBA Finals (Knicks vs. Spurs), but there are no credible reports that he left early or that his ‘feelings were hurt.’”

Trump arrived at Madison Square Garden in a motorcade on June 8 to attend Game 3 of the 2026 NBA Finals between the New York Knicks and the San Antonio Spurs, becoming the first sitting president to attend an NBA Finals game.

Inside the arena, Trump faced loud boos when his image appeared on the giant video screens during the national anthem, followed by chants of "USA, USA, USA."

The crowd's reaction calmed when the US flag was displayed, and they cheered when Knicks players appeared on the screens. Outside the venue, a small group of protesters held signs that read "Trump must go."

A few people along the motorcade route were seen making rude gestures as the president arrived.
