Fact Check: Did Trump slam a fake Nobel Committee member in a social media post?
WASHINGTON, DC: Amid President Donald Trump’s attack against the Norwegian Nobel Committee for not winning this year’s Peace Prize, a claim began circulating online that the 80-year-old posted on social media attacking a Nobel Committee member for explaining why he didn’t win the prize. The claim has drawn speculation, prompting a fact-check.
Claim: Donald Trump slammed a fake Nobel Committee member

The claim surfaced in the form of a screenshot appearing to show a post by Trump on Truth Social.
The alleged post read, “This is the most FAKE, ridiculous, LOW-ENERGY post I've ever seen, written by Peter Girnus (@gothburz), a total LOSER who claims to be on the Nobel Committee but is obviously NOT. Total FRAUD. I'm told he rides a TRAM. A grown man! The real Committee is a bunch of RADICAL LEFTISTS in Norway who hate Americe and everything we've accomplished."

"They sit around drinking coffee and eating cinnamon buns, very fattening, very bad buns, I'm told, while deciding who gets the Prize, and then they give it to some 85-year-old woman from the United Nations who NOBODY has ever heard of. Did she end eight wars? I don't think so!” it added.
In the subsequent paragraph, Trump repeated his claim of ending eight wars and the purported post ends by stating, “Next year will be DIFFERENT. Or the year after. Or they'll keep getting it wrong, because they're CORRUPT. Either way, I WIN. The American People know the TRUTH: I did more for PEACE than anyone, ever, and the Committee is a DISGRACE. SAD! THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER! PRESIDENT DONALD J. TRUMP.”
Fact Check: Donald Trump made no such post

However, the claim is false, as no such post exists on any of his official social media accounts. A search on his Truth Social handle for the post yielded no results that match the text in the screenshot.
There is also no evidence that Trump made such a statement outside social media, such as in interviews or at campaign rallies.
If Trump has really made such a post, prominent news media outlets would have widely covered it, making headlines, but a search on Google for relevant keywords yielded no results.
Moreover, the "Peter Girnus" referred to in the fake post is not listed among the five members of the 2026 Norwegian Nobel Committee and is an online content creator who describes himself as a "satirist."
