MAPLE GROVE, MINNESOTA: Following the tragic shooting of Alex Pretti by a federal officer during an immigration crackdown in Minneapolis past weekend, the protests against ICE have reached a new intensity.

Amid this, a clip has gone viral on social media allegedly claiming to show Federal agents drinking beers in the window of Hotel Springhill Suites as anti-ICE protesters rally outside. But is there any truth to this clip? Let us find out below.

Claim: Federal agents drank beer near hotel window amid anti-ICE protest

On Monday, January 26, X account @Breaking911 shared a video claiming, "Federal agents are drinking beers in the window of the hotel anti-ICE protesters are at tonight in Minnesota."

The video shows a nighttime protest outside a Springhill Suites by Marriott hotel, as a crowd of protesters faces police or federal agents in riot gear. In the hotel windows, groups of people are visible, and some are even seen holding and sipping what seems to be bottles or cans, looking down at the scene below.

The protest occurred on January 26, 2026, outside the Springhill Suites by Marriott in Maple Grove, Minnesota. The rumor was further shared online by different X posts.

An X user wrote, "Bro... The ICE agents are drinking beer, watching the protesters get policed by the MPD. Trump is vindicated on this. They absolutely won." The post had a screenshot from the clip showing a man holding something that seemed like a glass.

"DHS agents TAUNT Anti ICE Rioters by drinking Beers at the window of a Hotel looking down at Liberal losing their minds. GIVE THESE GUYS A RAISE. LMAO I LOVE THIS," wrote another X user.

Fact Check: False, no credible evidence to back the claim

The claims made in the online rumors are not true, as there is no credible evidence to prove that the Federal agents were specifically having beer as they were spotted inside the hotel.

In the viral clip, no labels are clearly visible in the footage due to the distance, low light, and video quality, so it's not 100 percent confirmed if the Federal agents were sipping beer or some other drink.

Moreover, there is just one angle from which the clip was recorded, and there are no other angles that would further back the claims made in the online posts.

Currently, there are no reports or follow-up coverage that would suggest the federal agents were having beer, despite the event's high visibility and rapid spread online.

Several protesters targeted hotels believed to be housing federal agents, including ICE and CBP (Customs and Border Protection) personnel deployed for immigration crackdowns under the Trump administration.
