In mid-January, several social media users came up with a post claiming that Bad Bunny has planned to wear a dress during the 2026 Super Bowl halftime show.
A user wrote on X, "BREAKING Bad Bunny plans to wear a dress during his 2026 Super Bowl halftime show. This will easily be the lowest viewed halftime show of all time."
Meanwhile, another X post read, "Bad Bunny plans to wear a dress during his 2026 Super Bowl halftime show to honor Puerto Rican queer icons and generations of drag, resistance, and cultural rebellion."
"Everyone who is triggered that Bad Bunny might wear a dress during the halftime show, can I ask a Question?! Are you equally as upset when a woman wears pants?," wrote another person on X.
Apart from Bad Bunny, artists such as Green Day, Charlie Puth, Brandi Carlile, and Coco Jones are all part of the pregame lineup.

A stylist connected to the project said, "He loves controversy. He lives to push envelopes," adding, "He is 100 percent going to wear a dress. A political thunderbolt disguised as couture."
Meanwhile, another source from the glam team added that the full scope of the performance has yet to register with the league. The source said, "He is not playing it safe. The NFL has no idea what's coming. Zero."
Despite facing backlash from critics following his selection, people close to the singer said nothing has changed behind the scenes. A friend added, "Let them complain. The dress is already being sewn."
