Fact Check: Is the image showing Renee Nicole Good mocking Charlie Kirk's death real?
MINNEAPOLIS, MINNESOTA: Renee Nicole Good, 37, was shot and killed by an ICE agent on January 7 in Minneapolis, as federal officials characterized the shooting as an 'act of self-defense'. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) claimed Good tried to run over or 'ram' ICE agents with her vehicle.
Following the incident, a rumor circulated online in the form of an image showing Renee Nicole Good mocking conservative icon Charlie Kirk's death. But is there any truth to this rumor? Let us find out below.
Claim: Renee Nicole Good mocked Charlie Kirk's death
Following the shooting of Renee Nicole Good in Minneapolis last Wednesday, an image went viral across social media showing Good mocking the death of Charlie Kirk, who was fatally shot in the neck last year during a Turning Point USA college event in Utah.
An X user @Memere269 shared a post with texts that read, "Here is her celebrating Kirk getting shot. Karma". The post also had an image of Good seen pointing towards her neck, as if mocking Kirk, where he was shot.
The same post was shared across different social media platforms, such as Threads and Facebook.
False: The viral image of Renee Good is doctored
The claims made in the online posts are false, as the image shared online on different social media platforms is a doctored image and it seems like it has been edited either using editing tools or with the help of Artificial Intelligence (AI).
The person who created the image edited Good's head onto a screenshot from a video of a different woman. The fake image seemed to use an image from Good's maternity shoot that has been widely circulated by several news outlets.
Meanwhile, the bottom half of the doctored image seemed to be taken from a video that social media users spread in October 2025, shortly after the conservative commentator was shot and killed.
NEW: The woman in the viral video mocking Charlie Kirk's assassination is a Chicago Public School teacher, according to the individual who posted the original video.

"Tha lady from the video is Lucy Martinez. She's a teacher in a Chicago school," he claimed.

The shirt and parts of the background of the viral image match the video that circulated online last October. However, some of the background features of the original screenshot seem to be missing, added to, or moved around in the fake image.
Renee Good's extended family issues first public statement
Renee Good's extended family members are urging the public to slow down the rhetoric and center the conversation on care and accountability as national outrage continues over the fatal shooting of Renee Nicole Good by an ICE officer in Minneapolis.
In a public statement made to The Guardian, relatives said they want answers and responsibility for Renee's death, but not at the cost of further hostility or dehumanization.
They mentioned that the focus should remain on who Renee was in life, rather than the political battle that has followed her killing. They said they hope what happened to Renee leads to meaningful reform while sparing other families similar trauma.
The new statement was issued by relatives connected to Renee's late partner, Timmy Macklin Jr, with input from her mother.
