Claim: 'The View' hosts asked not to speak about Jimmy Kimmel's suspension
During the recent segment of 'The View', the show hosts were quiet on the topic of their network yanking 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!' from the airwaves.
Hosts Whoopi Goldberg, Sunny Hostin, Sarah Haines, Joy Behar, and Alyssa Farrah Griffin said nothing about Jimmy Kimmel during their live broadcast on Thursday, September 18.
Following this, a rumor swirled online claiming that the hosts were asked not to speak about Jimmy Kimmel's suspension.
An X user wrote, "Ummm so @TheView has been censored? Not a single word about Jimmy Kimmel. This is absolutely disgusting & ridiculous. Just cancel the show then."

Proof: Unconfirmed
The claims made in the online rumors are unconfirmed, as there has been no official confirmation from 'The View' representatives on whether the hosts were asked not to speak about Jimmy Kimmel's suspension.
However, an insider informed Page Six that the ladies "were not silenced".
"They were not told not to discuss it," the source told the outlet.
The insider suggested that the show hosts may have been waiting for Kimmel to speak out, as they did when CBS pulled the plug on Stephen Colbert and the 'Late Show' franchise in July 2025.
The insider also said, "It’s an ongoing story and hot topics are discussed daily."
Despite the insider's statement, there is no official diktat that 'The View' co-hosts were told not to discuss it as well.
Trump predicted Jimmy Kimmel's ouster weeks before ABC suspended him
President Donald Trump predicted that late-night host Jimmy Kimmel would be "going" weeks before he was suspended by ABC.
Kimmel's suspension seemed to validate Trump’s earlier comments in the Oval Office.
During an exchange with Real America’s Voice correspondent Brian Glenn on August 6, Trump was asked whether the "hate Trump" business model in entertainment was failing.
.@POTUS: " Colbert has no talent. I mean, I could take anybody here, I could go outside on the beautiful streets and pick up a couple of people that'd do just as well or better. They'd get higher ratings... He's got no talent. Fallen has no talent. Kimmel has no talent." 🤣🤣 pic.twitter.com/KC6sunMhbd

The correspondent cited speculation that Howard Stern could be leaving Sirius XM.
The POTUS took the opportunity to lash out at his late-night critics, and named Kimmel and Jimmy Fallon in particular.
"Fallon has no talent. Kimmel has no talent. They’re next. They’re gonna be going. I hear they’re gonna be going," Trump said in August.
He further renewed his attacks on Stephen Colbert, and insisted that the CBS host had "no talent" and "worse ratings than anyone else."
