'Fake news': Christian Pulisic shuts down Sydney Sweeney dating rumors
WASHINGTON, DC: US men’s national soccer team captain Christian Pulisic shut down online rumors linking him to actress Sydney Sweeney, calling the dating stories “made up.”
The speculation spread after reports of Sweeney’s March breakup from her ex-fiance, Jonathan Davino, but sources say both Pulisic and Sweeney are currently dating other people.

On Sunday, December 28, the soccer star wrote on his Instagram Stories, “Please stop with the made up stories about my personal life. Need to hold sources accountable it can affect people’s lives.”
When another post suggested he was dating the 'Anyone But You' star, Pulisic wrote in the comments, “Fake news guys, let’s stop with the silly rumor.” The speculation began on Christmas Day after the Italian gossip site Gazzetta reported that an Instagram page called Bomber’s DNA started the story, which quickly spread online.
Pulisic has actually been in a relationship with athlete Alexa Melton since 2024.
Meanwhile, Sweeney has been reportedly dating Scooter Braun since September. A source told People in early December, “Scooter and Sydney are going strong and things between them are great. They’re in a committed relationship, and things are serious.”

Sydney Sweeney and Scooter Braun have been spotted together several times this fall and into the holiday season. In November, the couple shared a sweet kiss while sitting on a rock in New York City’s Central Park. They were also seen holding hands during a night out in Los Angeles on September 30.
A source told reporters that Sweeney and Braun share a lot in common and don’t care about “what others think.” Their happiness also brings joy to their friends and family. The source added that people close to Sweeney are “really happy about this relationship” and feel “it’s such a relief to see her genuinely happy.”
Friends of Braun are equally thrilled to see him spending time with Sweeney after his 2022 divorce from Yael Cohen, with whom he shares three children: sons Jagger, 10, and Levi, eight, and daughter Hart, six.
