Hilaria Baldwin admits her marriage to Alec was seen as ‘ridiculous’ due to 26-year age gap
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Hilaria Baldwin has revealed that once her marriage to Alec Baldwin, who is 26 years older than her, was seen as “ridiculous”.
The yoga instructor, who shares seven children with the actor, got candid about her marriage during an event celebrating her Spotlight magazine cover at NYC’s One Art Space gallery.

“Take a 27-year-old yoga instructor married to a rich and famous older man - it sounds ridiculous. It sounds like a bad SNL sketch,” she said. But she stated that their marriage “worked out luckily, but we poke fun at each other in our family all the time.”
“I think people expect that Alec wanted somebody he could boss around, and we’re on the same level together,” Hilaria added.

The ‘Dancing With The Stars’ alum also disclosed the secret of their thriving marriage amid their busy personal and professional lives.
“We take a lot of time for date nights. We’ve been traveling a lot for work recently but we try to have a lot of date nights. That usually involves dinner. He loves a good dinner, we either go out or I cook and we usually end up chatting and catching each other up on our seven kids and our projects,” the 42-year-old explained.
Hilaria further mentioned the importance of individuality and personal space in a relationship.
“We just let each other be, and I think that’s one of the reasons our relationship has gone on as long as it has, because we are polar opposites and so different,” she added.
The podcaster, who married the 68-year-old actor in 2012, also appeared to mention the 2021 fatal shooting of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins, as she stated, “There’s been so much chaos in our lives, so much of it wonderful, some horrible things but we’ve managed to figure it out.”

However, it was not only Hilaria who was gushing about her husband, but the ‘Beetlejuice’ star also praised his wife.
“I think anybody can see that. She’s a very special person, she really is. When I met her, she was unknown; she wasn’t a famous person. She was a hard worker and I really admired that. She’s beautiful beyond measure, inside and out,” he said.
Further into the interview, Alec admitted that he loves his home life more than being on a movie set.
He added, “For me, I don’t want to leave my home anymore. I want to stay home and do nothing and be with the kids. I love my kids, I love my family. I love to go to work. But I’m really happy when I’m at home with my family.”
