Hilaria and Alec Baldwin returned home after his 'Rust' case acquittal, embracing their children and cherishing the moment.
Alec said embracing his children, “We made it home, we made it home!”
The 66-year-old actor had been facing a potential prison sentence after being indicted in January 2024 by a New Mexico grand jury.
The charges stemmed from the fatal shooting of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on the set of 'Rust' in 2021, an incident in which Alec has long maintained he did not pull the trigger.
After years of legal battles, the case was dismissed with prejudice on July 12, 2024. Reflecting on the experience in a confessional moment, Alec shared his gratitude for being back with his family.

“After everything we’ve been through, I said to myself, this is perfect. This is what I’m doing—raising my kids. And I just feel like it’s such a privilege,” he said, according to People.
While Alec’s acquittal brought a sense of relief, Hilaria Baldwin revealed the intense fear she had leading up to the trial, prompting her to take a precautionary measure she never imagined she would have to consider.
In an emotional confessional, she disclosed that before leaving for New Mexico, she secretly wrote and hid letters for her children in case Alec was found guilty or something happened to them.
“As a parent, your instinct is to keep everyone together, especially during hard times,” Hilaria explained. “You just hold them even closer—everybody huddle, everybody under my wings, you know?”
“I wrote them all little letters—the ones that I left here. And I hid them, and I told my friend where they were in case something happened to us," she revealed.

On a previous episode of 'The Baldwins', Hilaria Baldwin spoke about her 11-year-old daughter Carmen's struggle with fear and anxiety when Alec was first charged in the case.
“When Alec was charged the first time, Carmen would not be alone in a room for months,” Hilaria recalled. “We had to move a bed into sleeping with the boys. She was so afraid of, ‘Is our family going to be torn apart?’”
As the trial approached, Carmen’s fears resurfaced, leading to a difficult conversation between mother and daughter.

“She asked me, ‘When Daddy goes to New Mexico, do I have to say goodbye to him? Like, do I have to say goodbye to him for a long time? Should I say goodbye in a special way, like I won’t see him for a long time because they’re trying to take my daddy from me?’” recalled Hilaria.
Holding back tears, Hilaria admitted that she encouraged Carmen to say her goodbyes: “I said, ‘Yeah, you should.’ And she just lost it.”
