NEW YORK CITY, NEW YOK: 'Morning Joe' co-host Willie Geist brought to light a shocking revelation from a new book by CNN's Jim Sciutto, 'The Return of Great Powers'. In the book, retired General John Kelly, who served as White House Chief of Staff in the Trump administration, recounts several conversations where Donald Trump allegedly spoke favorably about Adolf Hitler.

According to Kelly, Trump remarked that Hitler had "done some good things," citing the dictator's purported role in rebuilding the German economy. This revelation has sparked widespread concern and condemnation.

Trump's alleged fascination with Hitler's speeches

Kelly detailed one conversation where Trump purportedly defended Hitler's actions by stating, "Well, Hitler rebuilt the economy." Shocked, Kelly responded, "What'd he do? Turned it against the world. I said, sir, you can never say anything good about the guy, nothing."

Geist mentioned, "Trump's spokesperson dismissed Kelly's comments and said he is suffering from a severe case of Trump Derangement Syndrome."

Geist continued reading, "It is worth recalling, according to a 1990 investigation by Vanity Fair, Trump's late wife, Ivanka Trump, quote, told her lawyer, Michael Kennedy, that, from time to time, her husband reads a book of Hitler's collected speeches, "My New Order", which he keeps in a cabinet by his bed," sourcing the information to General Kelly.

Geist tagged Kelly as "a highly decorated general who served as the right hand of Donald Trump for many years. A guy with credibility, who recalled other conversations where Donald Trump called fallen soldiers suckers and losers, and now revealing he had fondness for Adolf Hitler."

Social media reacts as Scarborough highlights Trump's autocratic leanings

Moving on, MSNBC host Joe Scarborough condemned attempts to dismiss Kelly's claims, emphasizing Kelly's distinguished military career and his dedication to serving his country.

Scarborough pointed out the hypocrisy of labeling Kelly as suffering from "Trump Derangement Syndrome," highlighting Kelly's deep concern over Trump's disparaging remarks about American soldiers.

Scarborough further emphasized the importance of recognizing Trump's repeated patterns of behavior, suggesting, "The problem is, and we see it over and over again, and let's keep going back to the famous saying, when somebody tells you who they are, believe them. Donald Trump is continuing to tell us, and with more rapidity, that he is an autocrat."

"The worshipping of Hitler's power, just like the worshipping of President XI, the worshipping of Kim Jong-Un, just like this worshipping of Vladimir Putin, it all comes from the same disturbing place. He has an anti-American bent to authoritarianism," he added.

In wake of the discussion, netizens took to 'Morning Joe's X channel, with one of them writing, "The self reflection you guys are gonna be forced to do is gonna be epic," taking a diss at the panel members.

"But everyone knows you guys are fake news and y’all are losing credibility fast. And y’all keep saying the same stuff over and over again and people are not buying it anymore. Plus, the lefts policies suck," another user said.

"Where does he say that? He Didn’t. You are Fake News. Propaganda Minister," said another.

Someone else alleged, "State media. This is how its done."

"The Morning Joe Biden Show," quipped another, highlighting the alleged affinity the panel shows toward presenting Trump in a negative light.
