WASHINGTON, DC: Fox News reporter Peter Doocy recently shared footage of himself being hit by a sonic weapon, amid claims that a similar device was used during the US military operation in Venezuela.
The video Doocy presented comes from his time at Quantico in 2013, where he encountered a device he described as feeling intensely hot.
In early January, US Army Delta Force personnel captured Venezuelan leader Nicolas Maduro and his wife Cilia Flores following an order from former President Donald Trump to carry out the operation.
Eyewitness account of Venezuelan operation and sonic weapon
Venezuelan officials claimed that more than 100 security officials and soldiers were killed during the operation, though no US troops were killed. A few service members were injured but recovered, according to reports.
An eyewitness, who identified himself as a Venezuelan security guard, described the attack. He said, "On the day of the operation, we didn’t hear anything coming. We were on guard, but suddenly all our radar systems shut down without any explanation."
He added, "The next thing we saw were drones, a lot of drones, flying over our positions. We didn’t know how to react.” The eyewitness described the attacking soldiers as “technologically very advanced” and unlike anything they had encountered before.
As the encounter unfolded, he recounted that his group of hundreds was quickly overwhelmed. The soldiers fired with extreme precision and speed, with each appearing to shoot “300 rounds per minute.”
The security guard further explained that what he described as an intense sound wave weapon was deployed against them. He claimed the sonic device made his head feel like it was “exploding from the inside,” causing some members of his group to bleed from the nose, vomit blood, and collapse.
Peter Doocy’s footage at Quantico
The account coincided with a social media post from White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, who encouraged attention to the eyewitness claims. Leavitt wrote, “Stop what you are doing and read this.”
Doocy also commented on his footage from Quantico, where he was hit by a similar device. "The Pentagon is not yet saying exactly what weapon was used, but it sounds a lot like something this reporter got hit with at Quantico in 2013," he said.

He described the weapon in detail: "The military says the active denial system is not radioactive. It's not a microwave and it's not a laser beam. It's instead a man-sized beam of millimeter waves that can be fired from up to 1,000 meters away and are designed to make the target extremely hot."
Reflecting on his experience, Doocy added, "It's about 50 degrees out here right now, but I just felt like it was about 1,000. I've never been inside a tub that somebody dropped a hair dryer in, but I would imagine that's what it feels like."
