Fox News' Will Cain says Alex Pretti didn’t 'deserve to die' but was wrong to intervene with ICE
MINNEAPOLIS, MINNESOTA: Fox News host Will Cain shed some light on the ongoing chaos in the state of Minneapolis after the recent death of Alex Pretti by ICE agents.

Fox News host Will Cain said Alex Pretti’s possession of a firearm was lawful and protected under the Second Amendment, pushing back on claims that carrying a gun at a protest is inherently improper.… https://t.co/4nUrPEXosA pic.twitter.com/lLkch7u185
He played a bystander’s video from the day of the killing and said, “It’s fast, it’s obscured, it’s over just about as soon as it begins…”
“Two things, though, we know for sure…Alex Pretti was holding a phone when he approached Border Patrol officials. He was also in possession of a firearm,” he stated.
Will Cain says Alex Pretti was not wrong for carrying gun
Cain then went on to mention that Pretti’s carrying of a gun was lawful since he was a legal owner of it and it was his Second Amendment right. “Any narrative today, somehow that you should not have a gun even at a protest, in my mind, is a violation of the spirit of the Second Amendment,” the conservative political analyst noted.
However, he also pointed out that “it does not make it wise to carry a gun to a protest to what is melting toward a riot or to have a gun on you when you decide unlawfully to interfere with law enforcement.”
Cain appeared to blame Pretti as he once again showed the video before saying, “It is the moment when Pretti inserts himself into the situation with law enforcement. That decision, that action is not covered by the Second Amendment.”
Will Cain blames Alex Pretti for interfering in agents' actions
Continuing further, the 50-year-old host mentioned that “two things can be true at the same time. You can believe that Pretti raised the risk level by stepping in and it was unwise to bring a gun to what amounted to an organized insurgency.”
He, however, also told viewers, “And you can also believe that Pretti did not deserve to die. You can believe that these agents are put in an impossible situation…rape whistles, car horns, people ramming them, and you can still believe deadly force needs scrutiny.”
“You can have an emotional reaction even to people being deported. But I also think that ICE and border laws are necessary for a country’s sovereignty and this should be noted as well,” Cain asserted.
He then appeared to put blame on protestors and agitators, including Pretti, of interfering in “rightful actions of law enforcement” as he insisted that “this is not one size fits all situation.”
Will Cain accuses Minnesota government of 'ridiculous rhetoric'
“These agitators are on the level of insurgency,” Cain claimed as he showed another video where anti-ICE protestors can be seen attacking a hotel where agents were believed to be staying.
Cain once again seemingly blamed Pretti as well as Renee Good, who was fatally shot by an agent on January 7, for their deaths before he accused Minnesota Governor Tim Walz and the states’ officials of all the violence and the "ridiculous rhetoric.”
Trump stresses Alex Pretti was carrying a 'loaded gun'
Pretti, an ICE nurse, was fatally shot on January 24 as he allegedly interfered with the Border Patrol officials while "brandishing" a gun.
President Donald Trump even told The Wall Street Journal, “We’re looking, we’re reviewing everything and will come out with a determination. I don’t like any shooting. I don’t like it…”
“But I don’t like it when somebody goes into a protest and he’s got a very powerful, fully loaded gun with two magazines… That doesn’t play good either,” he added.
However, local officials and eyewitnesses, along with the 37-year-old man’s family, have denied the administration’s "sickening lies."
