IDAHO, UNITED STATES: The assault by Gabriel G Routt on his girlfriend has been revealed. An Idaho man targeted his pregnant girlfriend in an attempt to harm their unborn child. He has been arrested and is now facing attempted murder charges.

He tortured her by biting various parts of her body. Additionally, the investigation brought to light that this is not an isolated occurrence; he had also previously attacked his girlfriend.

According to Law&Crime, On September 6, Routt confronted his girlfriend at her apartment after she ignored his attempts to contact her.

Upon discovering messages between her and her mother discussing plans to leave him, he turned violent. Documents reveal that he pushed her, climbed on top of her, and bit her lip and the back of her left thigh, resulting in visible injuries.

Following this, he kicked her in the stomach and attempted to strangle her. Despite his aggression, she fought back, demanding a fair fight. In an attempt to defend herself, she grabbed scissors, but Routt seized them and threatened self-harm.

Refusing his demand to go for a drive, she tried alerting neighbors for help but was forcibly carried into a vehicle. After a brief drive, they returned to the apartment, where he retrieved a large knife, causing her distress.

Eventually, she escaped into her apartment, and Routt fled when she threatened to call the police. Later, he even called her during her police interview. Authorities located Routt at his parents' home.

It is worth mentioning that this incident is not the first time; in a previous occurrence in July, the girlfriend recounted that the argument began when he insisted she leave the house with him.

The situation escalated when he started pushing her outside, spilling his beer. He proceeded to pull her hair, grabbed the back of her neck, and coerced her towards their car in the driveway.

In her account to the police, she disclosed that Routt had choked her during the incident, causing difficulty in breathing. Law enforcement observed red marks, indicative of fingernail pressure, on the left side of her throat.

What happened at court?

In a courtroom earlier this month, 21-year-old Gabriel G Routt wept as he pleaded to be spared from prison and instead receive treatment.

District Judge Ben Cluff acknowledged Routt's emotional plea but emphasized that the crimes committed were, in his words, "quite frankly, horrific."

Routt had subjected the same woman to repeated attacks, during which he expressed a desire to harm the child because he did not want to become a parent with her.

The victim, who was eight weeks pregnant, endured this abuse. Tearfully, Routt stated in court, "I don’t want to live like this anymore."

Judge Cluff granted access to treatment but clarified that it would be administered while Routt was in prison custody.

After being convicted on charges that included attempted strangulation and attempted kidnapping, Routt received a sentence of at least eight years in prison.
