LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: California Governor Gavin Newsom took yet another jab at President Donald Trump on Sunday, August 24, by launching a new merch store called "The Patriot Shop."

Newsom announced the launch on X (formerly Twitter) with an all-caps message mimicking Trump’s style: “MANY PEOPLE ARE SAYING THIS IS THE GREATEST MERCHANDISE EVER MADE.”

Gavin Newsom launches shop with Trump-style merch

Gavin Newsom's merch shop takes a direct jab at Donald Trump, listing a "Holy Bible" signed by "America’s Favorite Governor!" for $100. Other items include a red MAGA-style cap reading "Newsom was right about everything!", a tank top that says "Trump is not hot," and a "Newsom 2026" cap.

In another post, Newsom added, "SOON ‘MAGA’ WILL HAVE A WHOLE NEW MEANING! COMING SOON FOR YOUR NEXT BOAT PARADE! YOU ARE VERY WELCOME, PATRIOTS!"

According to the website, the store is managed by Bright Blue Ink, a Texas print shop working on behalf of the Campaign For Democracy Committee.

The shop is Newsom’s latest swipe in his ongoing feud with the POTUS. Trump’s campaign and affiliates have made millions monetizing his brand with sneakers, cryptocurrency, Christmas gift wrap, guitars, perfume, and even his mugshot.

Their relationship has long been contentious. In July, Newsom criticized Trump’s ICE deportations in California, telling podcaster and former US Navy SEAL Shawn Ryan on 'The Shawn Ryan Show', "It didn’t need the National Guard to be called in."Earlier this month, Newsom mocked Trump on social media with all-caps tirades similar to those the former president posts on Truth Social.

At a press conference and rally earlier in August for his November 4 special election on state redistricting, the governor said, "I hope it’s a wake-up call. The President of the United States — I’m sort of following his example."

He continued, "And if you’ve got issues with what I’m putting out, you sure as hell should have concerns about what he’s putting out as president."

Newsom concluded, "To the extent it’s gotten some attention, I’m pleased. But I think the deeper question is: How have we allowed the normalization of his tweets and Truth Social posts over the last many years to go without similar scrutiny?"

Gavin Newsom's new merch shop sparks mockery

Several internet users trolled Gavin Newsom as he took a jab at Donald Trump by launching a new merch store named "The Patriot Shop."

A user wrote on X, "This is pathetic. You want to be as popular as Trump SO BAD!" while one added, "Same but different."

A person joked, "When I tried to order, my credit card information was stolen," whereas one mentioned, "I’m shocked to see that you’re not even authentic when it comes to making political propaganda. Those ideas are from President Trump and MAGA. If you believe and think you’re better than him, be original."

One more said, "The ONLY @GavinNewsom swag I would actually buy...and most definitely use," while another tweeted, "JFC, we got it already you love copying the guy. We’re bored of this already. Find something new, rejects."

"Great way to admit what Trump does works. copy cat," another tweet read.
